Default Power Windows Wont Work

Hi, I just bought a 1995 Camaro with a 3.4 V6 and I just can't seem to get the power windows working. I spent a lot of time in the junkyard digging up new window regulators and motors, and I tested them with a battery and they work fine going up and down. The problem starts when I plug them in, the plugs seem to have power in both directions when i check them with a test light. I had to do a lot of work to get this car running and its still showing a check engine light and a security light. I've looked all over for a relay, can't find one other than the door switch. I of course made sure the fuse was good and i've just plain ran out of things to check. Could that security light mean that the windows are being disabled? Any help you could give me with this would be greatly appreciated and I love your forum and have been getting tons of useful information from it. Thanks

Both sides don't work. I tested the connectors with a test light, grounded to the door hinge and then put the positive side first on one side of the connector then pressed on the window switch. The first side showed voltage with the switch in the up position and no voltage on the other side of the connector, then when pressing the down window button the other side of the connector showed voltage. In other words the light came on. I suspect it's not the voltage in the connector but the ground that is being cut off. I'll retest the connector with it grounded to the other side of the connector to see if it does anything.

Just checked it. I have a cheap multi meter from Harbor Freight. It says 12.4 volts at the battery and it also reads 12.4 volts when I touch both leads on the inside of the connector and depress the window switch in either direction.
