2000 3.8 liter coughing

Thanks. The code came back today. I think something that the computer is seeing is also throwing the calibration off, but I have no way to check it. Could be dirt, but I cleaned everything there last year, including the sensor. I'm pretty sure it only happens in closed-loop. I decided to order a new sensor. Will let you all know next week if that solves it.

Then, I stopped the car but let it idle while I giggled the MAF wiring and connector. Also rapped on the top of the sensor, but not even the slightest blip in the output. It may still be bad, but is working pretty good from what I can see. I think this is one of those problems that has to get worse before it can be diagnosed. :-(

Guys, the new MAF arrived today, and I quickly ohmed the terminals. Sure enough, one of the readings was way different from the old one. I installed it, cleared the code, and took it for a spin. No coughing and no MIL. Thank God and that you guys too!
