Chaotic's Progress Thread

Well since it's been a couple years since I've updated this thread, my Camaro is still alive and well!!! She got backed into a few months ago leaving my passenger side quarter panel caved in. She currently has 276xxx miles and still climbing every day! It's hard to believe I've had this thing for 7 years now. I really appreciate all your guys' support along my f-body journey!! I plan on purchasing a v8 6-speed car around the beginning of the year. The v6 has treated me well but I believe I'm finally ready to move onto my next f-body. After all, I have been daily driving this one since I got my license lmao!

I never realized how much fun a v8 was until a couple friends of mine let me drive theirs a couple weeks ago. One of them even had me run his car down the quarter mile track to see what I could run out of it. I squeezed a 14.1 at 100mph out of a 6 speed lt1 with headers and a catback exhaust. Not too awful bad I suppose. My 60ft was crap tho. 2.36. My reaction time was a .41. Room for improvement. It was my first and only pass that I made in his car. I made two passes in the 6 banger for grins and decided right then and there that I was ready for a v8 car. The funny thing about the track is that it was my buddies first time there too and he ran a 15.0 and a 14.6. I ran a 14.1 in his own car the first time I ever drove it. Lmao

I'm sure it'll be at 300xxx before it's all said and done lol. And I found out me old engine wasn't actually bad.i just had a bad vacuum line. Used the old vacuum lines and it ran the same as when the old engine was in. Swapped over the new vacuum lines and it purred like a kitten. So I guess I have a spare engine lol

haveing had both I got to say I like the 3800 an the gas milage ,but moveing to the v8 is the right thing to do ,I would look for.98 to 02 the ls1 is the far better engine ,not knocking the lt1 I beat the crap out of mine over 5 years ,an it owed me nothing ,since being hear I just see the ls1 having less issues an more to work with for upgrades ,but no matter what you get winter is the best time to shop for a 4th gen late fall

That is with the LS in my car. The LT was running mid 12s at 104-110 depending on the track that day. 6 Speeds are fun to drive but I suck at the track so far haha
