Default Question about nitrous on my LS1

I decided that the best bang for my buck is gonna be n2o so I'm gonna spray my 99 Z28. Currently I plan on buying a wet system from Zex or NOS and spraying about a 100 shot. Im gettin the car tuned before I even think of sprayin. Is a 100 shot safe with only a n2o tune (you know; timing retard and all)? If I spray more I heard that a fuel pump upgrade will make 150 safe. Also Im gonna buy either a Spec stage 1 clutch or a centerforce 1.
Any tips would be appreciated. Just gettin some input so I dont blow my s*** up. lol

Current mods:
SLP Loudmouth 1 catback
MTI Lid
K&N air filter
Throttle body bypass
Free cold air mod.

Car Mileage: 71,000 miles

Default RE: Question about nitrous on my LS1

ive heard that the stock fuel system will handle 150hp. Tuning is a good idea as well. Im glad to see u plan on that. I just installed my nx kit, and just bought HP tuners credit. a buddy and I will be tuning it up tomorrow trying to get the timing right.

you can also tune the AF using the jets in the kit. add or subtract fuel by using different sized jets. For mine, I went and did a few dyno pulls using wideband to get a baseline AF ratio. This would be good to know for ur car or else you are shooting in the dark (unless u will have a dynoshop tune for u, then ur good all around).

but yeah, the 100 shot will be fine. thats a pretty tame shot for an ls1. a few guys are running 200 shots on stock fuel systems on ls1tech.com. thats pushing it if u ask me, but 100 is well within bounds.

150 shot is safe on stock fuel system

but just to be safe i run a 75 shot with a FPSS

the fuel pressure safety switch cuts power to the nitrous in the event that my fuel pressure drops below 35 PSI

there are people who run 100 shots without a tune. nitrous isnt nearly as scary as everyoen makes it out to be. make sure ur fuel pressure is good and spray that sh*t!!!

i run 75 with no tune at all

and Specter is right, the only people who think nitrous is bad are the ones who know nothing about it except what they have seen in the fast and the furious

i actually just got my kit done today. we sprayed 100 shot and watched it with hp tuners. I had to pull the timing back to 18 degrees [&:]but the kit works awesome

what was ur DD? a good rule of thumb is to not run a shot greater than 50% of ur cars NA hp. The mixture will burn so violently you the little motors just cant take it.
