Default New here, modified 93 Z28

Hi all. I'm Marck from the Netherlands. New here. One of the cars I own is a 93 Z28. I have some small issues with the tranny that I can't seem to figure out so I registered here. Before I swap in a manual to get rid of the soft shifting issues.

It's got a 96 Z28 engine and trans in it and the prev owner wired it to a 94 ECU (apparently easier to tune) but this does not properly control pressure in the trans, the thing shifts a lot harder half throttle than full. I want to be able to put it in the performance mode but I don';t have a **** or an idea how to rig it so it's in that mode all the time. I may just install a T56 to get rid of that issue (have most of what's needed for it)

For the rest it has aftermarket cat back exhaust, koni yellow **** adjustable (Special) shocks, drop springs, C6Z06 brakes, 19" wheels and a red black interior that is flawless. Also has SFCs. Soon it will have tubular rear LCAs, LCARBs and some other suspension mods.

I still want to install a large sunoco rear spoiler, do the 12" rear corvette rotor pbr setup and install headers and fab a new stainless exhaust with a spintech muffler.

This is it (needs new hood struts and the stupid stickers removed from the rad shroud)

This is a personal thing, but don't even mess with the rear spoiler. No aftermarket one looks good on it. None. The only thing I would possibly switch it for is an OE SS spoiler.

I don't know why the PO would install a '94 computer. '96 is easier to tune and '93 only requires the chip to changed with a new one. I don't know if '94 and '96 trans use the same wiring, but they are both electronically controlled, so if the wiring was done right, it work fine.

Just for clarification is the car originally a '93 or '94?

A 93. The wiring 8s a little messy where it was spliced. Ill redo it and will check what ecu I have. It is the aluminium one mounted in the engine bay. It has a tune from some reputable source. Forgot who. Id like it to be full sequential. The emissions are perfect but its a gas hog

'94 and up were all sequential. '93 was batch fire but honestly, there isn't a mileage difference between the two with all other factors the same. If you bought the car for fuel mileage, you might as well sell it.

You can find complete wiring harness's and ECUs off of ebay for fairly cheap. But it would be a lot of work to take it back to original

I'm gonna say they used a '94 PCM. You can have it tuned so it runs slightly lean at idle and part throttle/cruise conditions. That'll net you some fuel mileage.
