Default Trans Mount

I don't know what it is with me and tranny mounts... parts guy says its a lead foot..lol. My problem is that the stock made in Korea crap that every parts store carriers keeps breaking. I have found this one at jegs but I'm not sure how it will fit. http://www.jegs.com/i/Prothane/311/7-1604/10002/-1 The pic has the mount with three holes in the top of the mount but seems to come with just two bolts and no stud for the center into the cross member. Has anyone use this part before... Is there a better then stock mount that I can use or is this one a good one.

Thanks,
Chrshadil

I've used one before on a 96 that tore a stock rubber mount. Just know that you may feel more vibration being transferred through the body because it's a stiffer mount. I felt a little bit on mine, but I could live with it knowing I would never tear another mount.
The two bolts that hold it onto your transmission, are on your trans now holding the old mount. The two that come with that mount are for the crossmember. The mount fits all Camaros since day one, as well as some other models. Some cars took two mounting bolts on either side to the crossmember, others took only one in the center. That explains the three holes and two bolts.

Thanks,
That's how I figured it worked. I guess I will buy one, already went through three stock mounts in the last two months.

did u check the motor mounts to make sure there ok. if the motor is moving it will effect the trans movement. the motor mounts are made so when they break there are steel pieces that keep it from moving to far even when broke so they let the engine move but not to far. the other part could be the tourque arm bushings are so bad the movment of the rear end could be getting momentum before making contact with the mount at the trany and breaking the trany mount or the weakest link.

try energy suspensions urethane bushings. I bought a kit for all the bushings the only ones I didn't get in the kit was the motor mounts. no more wheele hope, vibration and it handles alot better. they sell the bushings individually so you can replace the ones you need a little at a time.

Put the new poly mount on and it works great. Have not broke it and have already put over 2000 miles on it. Thanks
