Default purge canister removal

now ive read the threads, googled etc, and im still confused. im replacing the fuel pump in my tank and removed the purge canister and everything related. Can i simply just cap the line going to the canister? anyone ever do it and not have issues? i see people talking about putting a filter on it, i just want to cap it off. so the 4 lines from the top of the tank would look like this: supply, return, golf ball sized vent thingy, and my caped off canister line. i understand about tuning it out as well, solomons awesome. thx.

93 camaro z, auto.

You don't lose anything by having the purge system in place. You do gain a properly vented fuel system and your car won't smell of gas all the time.

Unless you are building a full-on race car, and every ounce counts, leave it alone or repair it if damaged.

Went against the grain and did it anyways. Been a month, no gas smell in the garage. Thanks for the input.

Be sure to let us know how it performs in the extreme heat of the summer, when the gas tank builds up more excessive pressure than it does now, with no way for escape.
