Default Optispark Bearing Play

I recently just purchased a reman GM optispark. There is a tiny bit of play in the shaft. Is that acceptable or should there be none?

(I bought the motor with no opti so I have nothing to compare)

Thanks

Forward and back play, or up and down? If up and down, no there shouldn't be any, that would be a bad bearing.
As far as fore and aft, I don't see that an itty bitty bit is going to hurt you. And that may be normal, I never tested mine.

It's a little bit of side to side play. I looked at a friends used opti tonight and it has similar play

i dont think the msd one does, i checked the gm spare i have and it does have just a tad of play in and out and up and down, if i set it as it on end as it would set in the car and turn the shaft its nice and smooth like a new opti, a rebuild may be that way, gm doesnt sell a new opti anymore.

Yeah there is no in and out play, I got a good enough deal on it so I'll probably try it out.
