My advice to you is to go with Accel it does the same thing for half the money, the whole thing about the opti spark is the quality of the parts they use to build it. With MSD opti spark your paying for the name MSD

I put an MSD opti on my car this summer, and then took it on a long road trip without a hitch. Still going fine, so we'll see how it goes long term. It is built noticeably better than the stock opti, but I wouldn't pay $500 for one. I found mine on ebay for a heck of a deal. I haven't heard anything bad about the Accel.

My question is how do you know if it really is Gm pro. I see alot of guys selling them on ebay advertising a GM pro. but how do you know for sure? I would like to purchase a GM pro. but don't want to get ripped off and buy some knock off.

Opinions are like a**holes everybody has one......lol. I just wont pay what MSD wants for there's when you can get the same quality product for half the cost from another manufacture.

Mr_Exacto, you don't happen to have any more discussion threads to show do you? That's not enough!!!
And yeah, like I said, I wouldn't even consider shelling out 500 bucks for an MSD. I only got one because I couldn't pass it up.
Just watch out for those flebay models. The way some of them word it make it sound like it's a major manufacturer, when in reality they are probably a C.C.C. (Cheap China Crap) part.

Well, I know Camaro 69 and I discussed the MSD model. Personally? Junk. I know everybody is probably tired of hearing me preach about the LTCC LS1 coil conversion but whatev. It's awesome, easy and reasonably priced to do and you don't have jack slap opti issues anymore. Get yourself a new opti with a good cam sensor in it and but the conversion, boom, done, end of story and the beginning of trouble free ignition and power increase. I swear by mine. I was ready to set my LT1 car on fire until I got ahold of one of these conversions. Worth twice what you pay for one. I have an Air Flow Research headed 383 LT1 in my car that made 367hp at the tires with opti setup. I had issues, put the coil conversion on, pow, 389hp at the tires and noticed a RIDICULOUS response increase and my nitrous kit is optimized with the retard/advance adjustment the system now has. I'm just sayin'.
