Default Found the culprit now finding the miss

I've had an on again off again miss with my 95' Z for a while now and I'm pretty sure I've found the cause, now I just need advise on fixing the problem er or the miss I took care of the problem.

Seems that I had a mouse take up residence in the engine bay of my car and figure that is the cause of my miss. A couple well placed traps took care of the mouse but I have no clue as to finding out what he's chewed into.

Short of tearing the whole engine harness apart is there certain areas of the harness more likely to cause my problem that would be in my best interest to take a look at first ? Sure hope I don't have to pull the whole harness.

I would start on one end and work your way to other end (s). a pain in the rear, but if you gonna check, might as well cover all of it. Of course you could just check the hard to see areas first. Was your car sitting for awhile? anyways best wishes

check the wires to the ecm. take it out and look for any signs of damage to the wires. behind it is a perfect place for a nest. is there any sign it made it to the inside of the car?

I had that happen to me. The mouse had chewed a vacuum line open and the vacuum leak was causing the skipping on the back 2 cylinders. The car was an 1986 Camaro 305 Auto.

Visual inspect everything.
Generally, having another person, one who does not know anything about a vehicle, is the best inspector.

Any chewed spots should be quite apparent.
