Has it ever worked while you owned the car or is this loss of CC something new?

Doesnt a brake light being out also trip the "abs inop" light? Reason i ask is because my light is on and my cc is no good either... maybe i need to check that

I know for a fact the third brake light being out will cause an "ABS INOP" light on the dash and loss of cruise control on the '94 Z28s. However, GM rewired the system in '96 or '97 IIRC to fix this issue.

The short explanation I found somewhere online was that the wheel speed sensor on the rear axle gets its power in series through the third brake light. So if the third brake light is burnt out, then no voltage can get to the speed sensor, and therefore no ABS or CC. Also, if you replace the standard bulbs with LEDs, then you need to also add an automotive relay into the wiring to get everything to work again (though I cannot remember the reason why).

I know this because when I bought mine a few years ago, I had the "ABS INOP" light and no cruise control and my third brake lights were burnt out. Once I fixed the third brake lights, my CC started working and the "ABS INOP" light went out.

I would suspect that the third brake light being out would affect a '93 in similar manner.
