different kind of what? opti? how? so u got a dtc 16, is that correct? dtc 16 ussually indicates a bad opti or bad connection to the opti.

the distributor i bought doesnt say opti spark on it. i was wonderian if it had to be a opti spark distributor to work on this car. and yes i think it was code 16 but everytime somebody comes and looks at it they CANT figure out why it aint getting any spark. can i check my distributor wire with a multimeter ?

WHEN I BOUGHT MY DISTRIBUTOR FROM PEP BOYS I DIDNT SEE ANYTHING ABOUT OPTI SPARK ON THE BOX. I WANTED TO KNOW DOES IT HAVE TO BE A OPTI TO WORK ON THIS CAR. I THINK IT WAS CODE 16 BUT EVERYTIME SOMEBODY COMES TO LOOK AT IT THEY CANT FIGURE OUT WHY IT AINT GETTING ANY SPARK. I GOT THE SAME DISTRIBUTOR FROM PEP BOYS THINKING THEY SOLD ME A DEFECTIVE ONE BUT IT STILL WON"t start or spark. do i have to put the hermitic balancer and the belt on just to start it for a second ? so do i have to take the distributor back off and check for somthing or can i check the plug wire going to it with a multimeter
