The exhaust pipes now drip water, on both sides equally. I have just water in my radiator right now. My engine has been in great shape. It's a 350 rebuilt with Edelbrock high rise manifold, in a 75 Camaro. I understand that this may be the coolant going into the manifold, and coming through the engine into the exhaust? What can I check for, what can I do?

What are your other symptons, is the running ok are you loosing coolant, are you sure it's not just normal condensation

 

its most likely condensation due to the colder weather

 

Is there a good reason why you're running straight water? Antifreeze prevents boiling over, prevents the water in the block from freezing and ruining it, prevents internal rust, and it lubricates things like the water pump (water isn't a lubricant). Needless to say, using only water is bad.

 

There is usually a ratio of water to coolant (60/40?), how much dripping is there? minimal or alot? Usually it is condensation built up inside the pipes

 

It's a newer rebuilt engine and has ran great, temp stays at 180, but recently I have had to refill the radiator every week or so, but have not been able to trace a leak, which is why I used water a few times, but thanks Camaro 69 for the prompt to use radiator fluid. (I replaced water pump just in case last week.) I never see it leaking from front of car, not sure where coolant is going...

 

Hmmmmm....let's see if we can put two and three together:
1) You're refilling the radiator weekly.
2) You see no external leaks.
3) You're questioning about water dripping out of the exhaust.
4) Your cooling system is filled with water.
If water isn't leaking on the outside, you'd have to be losing it on the inside. Head or intake gasket would be the suspect.

 

^Ouch. Meaning you need to open 'er up and check your gaskets. Although I thought if it was leaking internally there would be smoke/vapor due to the heat that the engine gives off?
