Default Buying A '68 Camaro

Looking at a 1968 Camaro. It has a 396 cubic in. and only a 10 bolt rear. Is this correct. I know some came with 12 bolt rears. Shouldn't a big block have a 12 bolt rear? Also how do you take care of the solid vinyl top, does it need any special care? Thanks

you might want to check the vin # of both the motor and car. if it is the original motor the last 5-7 digits will match. with the 10 bolt though makes me think that it was a small block car originally becaue im pretty sure all big blocks had 12 bolts. srry i dont know on how to take care of the vinyl top my 68 had one originaly but it was off when i bought the car and i dont want on it because they rust to easy i had to patch part of my roof.

A factory big block car would have a 12 bolt rear and multi-leaf springs.
If it's an automatic it should also have the turbo 400 trans.
