Misfire code P0300

Misfire code P0300
New guy here. Bought a very low mile (supposedly less than 5K) LT1 out of a '97 Camaro to put into a Datsun 240Z. Then found a '97 Z28 with a hydrolocked LT1 (threw a rod) and 6 speed manual trans in otherwise great shape. The car has 143k miles. So, I put the good engine into the car. Reused the fuel rail, injectors, O2 sensors, IAT and MAF as the low mile engine came without these items.
The engine starts right up and runs great, although it seems to idle a little high (tach shows 1k rpm). When I drive it the SES light will flash, then go solid, then flash, then go solid (lather, rinse, repeat). Even so, the car runs very strong. No stumbling, hesitation, lack of power, etc...
Went to AutoZone and they scanned the codes. The only code set is P0300. Not sure what would cause the misfire, as engine seems to run just fine. But, I'm curious about the MAF, IAT and injectors, as the original engine sucked in water. Could that cause any of these devices to crap out & trigger the P0300 code?
Thanks,
Kenny

Well it turned out to be an easy fix. Well, not that easy...I pulled all the plugs so I could give them a good looking over. Lost a bit of skin in the process...oh, well, can't be a gear head if you can't take the busted knuckles! Anyway, turns out #7 wasn't firing. I'm guessing the plug wire wasn't firmly attached, because the car seems to run even stronger (funny how hitting on all 8 cylinders will do that!) and the SES light went out and has yet to come back on. This car is a blast to drive! Whee!
