Front parking-blinker ISSUES...
Hey,
I very recently had the front bumper parking-blinker lights changed to a clear aftermarket housing. After encountering problems (non-blinking blinker) with using LEDs, I switched back to traditional bulbs and got this problem fixed.
However its been raining heavily here in NorCal for the last 48hrs and the new light housing are obviously not very waterproof. As a results, I can see droplets/fogging inside the lense and more importantly the right front blinker AND parking lights ARE OUT. The left side front bumper lights are both OK for now, even though the housing is apparently not much more waterproof.
So in short Im wondering what to do next. Should I wait a little for the lights to dry out and see if that solves the problem? Or is the water damage probably irreversible and will require changing the bulbs or some electrical component? Im not very knowledgable in this field Im afraid.
Any piece of advice would be greatly appreicated. In addition I had someone tell me that Camaros often have issues with those front bumper lights. Did anyone experience similar complications??
Thanks again, MJ
PS I own a 2001 RS model if that makes any difference.

OK, thanks. But Im also wondering how bad the damage is at the moment, do you think the bulbs are still functional? CUz Im considering maybe just returning to the initial OEM lights that I coould black out for example...
If water did indeed create a shorting out is any electrical component gonna nee replacment according to you?
Thanks again.

Hot bulbs and any amount of water do not play well with each other. The bulbs are shot , but you can check them. You should not have any damage to the sockets. I would file the clear lens idea under "did not work".

yep I agree with the filing idea. I saw that the bulbs actually exploded in half!! Anyways i was wondering if it was bad to drive the car around until I actually get those blinker fixed (apart from the fact that people cant really know where Im going...) :-)
Thanks for your help, MJ
