Default Distributor Vaccum advance

I have a 80' 305 V8 and I was wondering, Is the Distributor vaccum advance timed or full? I dont know because the car isnt running right now and i just got a carb for it and it has the ports for both. If i dont get a reply I'll just try one at a time and see.

I dont know a great deal about engines and such but I know enough to ask when I dont know the answer.
Hopefuly I'll be able to get it running by monday because that's when the city is going to give me a citation for it and possibly tow it away if i dont get it running.

It's timed vacuum. you only want spark advance when you're accelerating, or under a load condition. If you hook it up to full vacuum it'll idle fine untill you try to drive it, it'll knock like crazy.
