383 stroker spark plug recommendation
i need to know what plugs and heat range i should use for this engine. im thinking something colder than stock because of the high compression? http://www.blueprintengines.com/popu...specs&pc_id=98

Since 383 is not a stock displacement, you really don't have a stock plug to start with. If the 383 engine comes with spark plugs, use the ones the builder provided. If it comes without plugs, call the builder & see what they recommend. All things being equal, higher compression should work better with colder plugs, but if you go too cold the plugs will foul. Also, a lot depends on combustion chamber design, camshaft, and how you are going to use the engine.

its going to be mostly street, some strip/fast street. the cam is fairly mild, under .500" lift (the specs are in the link). i was going to order stuff tonight, but i have to wait anyways now for my summit card. ill give blueprint engines a call monday to find out what they recommend

Calling the builder would be the best bet. Also find out what carb, intake, initial, and total spark lead they used. Get some Comp Cams break in oil, flat lifters need special care in breaking in. Also with flat lifters is a good idea to use engine oil high in ZDDP (Zink, Phosphorus), also available from Comp Cams (Muscle car engine oil).

i know all that. they pre break in the engine, which is what allows them to have a 3 year/36,000 mile warrenty. i was thinking of using mobil delvac as that has all the zinc and other additives the old engines need. im running efi, so it may be a different plug requirment than what they used

i talked to blueprint, they recommended that i use ngk plugs and gave me the part number for them. im glad they recommend to me what i recommend to everyone else
