Red face Aftermarket stereo aux not working

I have searched the forum, but could not find a solution to my issue. I just picked up a 1994 Z28. I have installed several aftermarket radios in the past, but have never encountered this issue. I used a wiring adapter kit, and have double checked all connections.

My new Alpine head unit will work fine on radio mode, however when I select AUX, USB input, or XM radio (built in to alpine) there is no audio? I can hear what sounds like a factory amplifier turn off in the dash when anyone of these settings is selected. The unit stays illuminated, and appears to be functioning, but no audio???

I pulled the head unit and tried it in my Wrangler. It functioned normally.

Can anyone tell me how to overcome this issue in the Z28?
Thank you in advance!
