Hello, I just got a 94 Camaro and I'm in the process of removing the miles of aftermarket wiring that the previous owner had installed. I need to lift the center console off to get to some wires that he ran under it, but I can't figure out how to remove the automatic trans shift knob? I don't see any allen screw or bolt near the knob. How do you remove it???

Second question is where can I find a really good electrical schematics on the 94 camaro? Mainly fuel inj, VAT, body harness, ect.. I bought a Haynes manual but I does not show enough detail. I'm trying to avoid going to the dealer.

Thanks for any responses.

doesnt the shift knob have a lil plastic piece holding it in? probably cant see it until the shifter is all the way back towards the drivers seat

The only thing I can see is a small cut running horizontally about 1/2" long on the front side of the shift knob. I probed it with a small screw driver but could not find any type of screw or bolt?

no it just pulls out with some needle nose pliers

thanks nj85z28 for the reply. I finally figured it out. The little slit is for a horse shoe shaped retaining clip which is missing, (kind of what you said). Once the clip is out the knob pulls straight up. Mine was really stuck! Thanks again, now I can clean all that dried soft drink stuff the previous owner left behind.

P.s. can anyone suggest on where to get a really good wiring diagram without going to the dealer??
