View Full Version : R1 Performance Brakes shnormo 11-26-2006, 11:46 PM Has anyone used them, or bought them? http://www.r1concepts.com/Brake%20Rotors/Chevrolet/Camaro/?sck=29424116 94CamaroSFI 12-04-2006, 12:54 AM Never used this brand but on my 86 Z28 (400 small Block) I had cross drilled rotors and they stop on a dime. Id say compared to my factory rotors it improved tenfold. Keeps the brakes cooler so they take longer to wear. What I liked most about having cross drilled rotors is that during rainy days they dont allow the car to slide as nearly as much as if you locked up regular rotor brakes. and Norm, I know i don't have to remind you of this but to anyone else that reads this post.... Be Sure to Buy a Good Set of brake pads to go along with these. Id go with these R1 Concepts because for $102.99 you get both rotors AND 4 of the R1 Premium Pads. Good Choice IMO shnormo 12-04-2006, 09:54 PM Well I went was just wondering cuz they're not a "common house name" yet. I got my rotors for my Camaro from EBC and got SSBC Calipers that came with high performane pads lol. But I've never really heard of R1. I decided to give them a shot. Just takes a while for them to send these suckers. I ordered them on thursdsay and still no tracking number. Hopefully I get these. MochaCaliGirl 07-19-2007, 01:10 PM I have been scanning the internet and the R1 brand seems to be listed in more than a few places. I was looking at replacing my oem rotors and brakes as an upgrade. The slotted or diamond drilled design seem to be popular and boast improved braking ability. I am interested in replacing the brake lines as well. My question is... Is it smart to have all of these things done at once with consideration given to time and $$$ or is the cost about the same haveing everything done independently? Thanks in advance for your opinions. 1969 SS 07-24-2007, 11:48 PM honestly never heard of them. also, crossdrilled rotors are actually inferior over regular rotors on the street. lots of problems with cracking on the street. do a little research and you will see what I'm talking about. usually crossdrilled rotors don't have the additional cooling fins that are needed for street use. slotted rotors are much better but both will give you much shorter brakepad life than a stock rotorbecause of wear patterns |
