hey, i have 2 exhaust tips, they have somewhat of a muffler inside ofthem tho... muffler will just like... make it deeper right?.. theyre not ricer tips, theyre small and i was debating whether or not to cut my current exhaust and put them on the tips, because the tips that are on it now, are just... plain old , banged up ( exhaust fell off once , sucked ), my question is what u guys think... i kindof curious if it would change the sound drastically, which im not sure if it would or not

It's what I have on my camaro, but I don't know how it'd sound on a V6. If you can get someone to bend you the tubing and do some welding for pretty cheap, I'd say go for it. You can't deny the free flowing-ness of no muffler!

Dont do it! My friend put two on his TA, they make your car humm. It almost sounds like a ricer. Put em on ebay or something.

I'm questioning the TA...because my Z is a V8 obviously, and it sounds amazing, not ricer at all, it's a deep throaty roar, not some humming ricer noise...It really gives the car an open exhaust sound(because it is), but the resonators inside the tips just make it a bit quieter. I see it as the pure sound of the car, without something to try to effect the sound with chambers and baffles and other crap. Like I said before, save the system that's on it now, do the tips, and if you don't like them, just go back to your old system. I think a V6 would probably sound a bit ricer though, not at idle, but once you got into the high end it would.

i cut the tips off of my current exhaust to make room for the tips and they wouldnt fit lol... i cut abotu 6 inches of exhaust off on each side, and it changed the sound quite a bit, sounds a little louder now, only objection i have is that if u stand behind it u hear kindof a tingling sound.. hard to explain, it just sounds kindof crappy whe it idles, sounds good when i accelerate tho..

That sucks that they wouldn't fit. Just take out your whole muffler and then put on the tips...that'll ensure you have room.(oh, and it may be a bit louder)

i'd love to do that, but... it wont be duel exhaust if i do that and thatd be gheyyy lol... cuz the muffler is what makes mine duel

Ya, mine has a Y in it, so it makes it "dual" too. I'd suggest going that route if you ever get some money to invest in it. Any reasonable muffler place should be capable of bending you a Y.

something like this?, i was just brainstorming and felt artistic... would i be able to buy all the things needed at a store??.. i already baught a y-pipe extension thingy, its tiny, all it is is one inlet and 2 out, but yeah, could i just buy the rest of the pipeing in stores? or will this require custum bending etc.. cuz i cant afford that stuff

My system actually splits where the stock muffler connected. The pipe bends into the muffler, and it was chopped there, then a new pipe that had an L bend was bent to get the tip over to the other side of the car. The other tip is welded onto the origional pipe before it bends to get into the muffler, so a new hole has to be cut, and a straight pipe needs to be welded to the origional. With your plan, I don't know if you would be able to completely fit it under the car, it's a pretty tight area...

ok, so the messed up crappy picture didn't cut it for me...so here ya go, remeber, I have a V8 and it dumps into Headers with an aftermarket Y, but you get the general picture.

My exhaust system as of now(hoping to get 3 inch all the way back soon...)

damm, yeah that was what i was concerned about was room, i wasnt sure if 2 pipes would actually fit like that, maybe i'll try to come up with something like you did
