Well, if GM wants to get out of that rut they're currently in, they should definitly seriously consider the currently rumoured cars such as the new Camaro, and redone Grand National. In my opinion, they should also bring back the Chevelle. Currently it seems like nastalgic looking cars are selling fairly good.

Currently, Dodge has out the Charger, and coming up is the Challenger in 09. Challenger is rumoured to be a 2 door RWD w/optional HEMI. As far as others, im am unsure.

Ford is doing good things. Even though i despise Mustangs and Fords in general, the currently prototype Shelby GT500 would come with about 500 HP, making any true muscle car fan drool. Dont forget the Ford GT, and Mustang GT as well. Neither of them will be overlooked if you're lining up next to them.

So what is GM doing?

Chevorlet should not bring back the chevelle since it is a symbol of true american muscle. If they bring it back and mess it up like the dodge charger... ( 4 door) Then I would be pissed. if they do bring it back then they better make it freaking sweet. I dont think that people would buy it if they did since it would have too much power and eat up too much gas. (if it has a 454 like it should). Chevy is getting blown out with ford and Dodge now with all of their new cars. The mustang looks nice almost how the concept camaro looks. I agree that chevy should get their act together or they will be left behind. Another point, No kids can afford muscle cars, new or old so they get the crappy civics and rice burners when they should A. Be buying american cars. I dont care which, but stay american. B. Buy muscle cars. All of these companies have to make muscle cars more affordable. My dad was able to buy a 76 camaro brand new in 75-76 when he was 18 so why cant us kids. I was able to afford a 81 camaro when im 15 but why not everyone else. Because they dont want to work on their own cars. lazy bastards. Half these kids just want fast cars to start. I dont like it. Well, I ment not many kids can afford muscle cars. My 15 year old brother and myself both have muscle cars. He has a firebird (that is also half mine) and I have a camaro. Only two of my friends has another muscle car. He has a 91 camaro and my other friend has a 76 Nova.

yep when i was 15 i really wanted a Camaro or a Regal but i couldnt afford it so i ended up buying a Datsun 210 and i really didnt like the car but was all i can afford and was pretty fast but my heart was in a Camaro man i remember this guy use to drive by in his white 69 Camaro with black racing stripes that was my dream car. Well i finally got an 81 Camaro with 350 smallblock bored 30 over with edelbrock performer intake and 700 cfm carb and cam and lifter kit man i love this car and is painted amber fire metallic every where i go people stare and comment on it. and kids on my street drool. If chevy does come out with the new camaro i will buy one no doubt about it. Maybe if evryone gets together and start writting and calling Chevy corp and make our voices heard they will bring the best american muscle car ever the Camaro. Thanks FrankC

gm over the last couple of years have been chasing a trend insted of starting one. the ricers are the trend right now and any product that a spoiled 16-17 year old thinks is cool gm will put it out there for the parets to buy for the kid, then the kid can rice it up with the parents 401k plan. do not even get me started with the half ass attempts like the gto.

i like the GTO...i mean, they could have done some more with developing a whole new car, maybe a bit more aggresive look, and a little more away from the Grand Am look, but it moves...

but he has a point......they are struggling to come up with something to fill the void left by the f bodies. they have to be. they don't have a legitimate piece of that sports/muscle car market share.

the GTO has been an unequivical failure. it's a fast bad ass car but it doesn't have agressive enough styling. i think just dumping the holden monaro on the american market might have been a mistake. maybe it's just me.....but obviously it isn't because they aren't selling very many of them at all.....and we all know that the market for the muscle car is still there because the mustang is selling like hotcakes.

so i think bringing back the camaro would be probably the best thing GM can do for themselves. that and loosing a few of the GIANT suvs and makeing one or two hybrids.....i think the cobalt would be a prime candidate for the hybrid technology.

The mustang is not a girly car they just look better driving a mustang then a camaro. But camaros are still badass our i wouldnt have one!

typical ignorant camaro owner... get over it that the camaros became obsolete cuase the company that made it lost its way... stop making the mustang seem like a girls cars....its been thriving for a reason obviously and not cuase girls like it... no guy ina stang is getting girls attention trust me i got 2 friends that own 98 gts... and a cousin who owns a 93 gt... only attention they get are ppl who want to drive stick.... there should be a firebird T/A or formula forum... camaro lost it back in the 80s and even int eh 90... in the 80 they were to busy trying to catch the lx 5.0 and in teh 90s they were trying to make it a corvette with out the corvette

now that mustangs are brought into this... its sad how the mustang was not created to compete directly vs camaros cept for the boss and mach 1's but in the long run it out did the cmaros... in the 80s chevy was struggling to keep up witht he stang so they had it and just dropped the vette engine in thier cars to settle it... and its still failed as for a v6 cmaro have more horsepower then a gt idk about that but i wouldn't be suprised if it did... acutally wait nope stang gt has 25 hp over vg cmaros... sorry buddy get your stuff straight

no, i meant it like the v6's in the camaros had more then the v6s in the stangs just like the z28's had more then the GT's. im not trying to talk crap about stangs....i think they had the right idea with the cobras...those are fast. and i can say stuff about camaros too...like with the ratings of 02 z28s being 310 i think they should have made the SS alot bigger and badder...it does have more..its like 325..but thats not that much of a stretch from 310. but the cobras had 60 hp over the GT...to really stand out ya know.

yeah my friends dad has either a 95 or 96 cobra...that thing was cool... red with black leather. well atleast in 94 and up they got rid of the 4 banger stang lol didnt they have a 93 with like 105 hp? lol thats pathetic...my camry i had before which was older had more then that and it was a 4 too lol
