If anyone here is knowledgable with go karts that this question is for you. Everytime i hit a bump with my kart i snap the chain, i have used up about 20 feet of chain and a lot of energy pushing the stupid thing back home. If anyone has any ideas as to what might be causing my problem i would greatly appreciate the help.

it sounds like you have too much give somewhere in the chassis...when you leave the ground the movement in the chassis is likely what is causing the tension to be taken out, and when the wheels come down, the suddenly looseness makes it break..

OR

the drive wheels arent tied into the chassis correctly, and when you get off the ground, it is literally ripping the drive train off of the driveline. try jacking the car up and seeing how much movement the chain allows...then figure out a way to adjust the dirvewheel assembly so that the chain isnt yanked...

there is no movement or slack in the chain whatsoever. umm also i dont have any suspension on it, makes for a very bumpy ride. I think i fixed the problem though, i found that the drive sprocket and the sprocket on the clutch were slightly un-aligned, so i aligned them better and am about to go test drive when it cools off outside, its too dang hot.
