i wanted to get my windows tinted to help keep it a little cooler especially now during the summer, but i have heard people tell me it actually makes your interior hotter if you tint them ? is this true ?

my roomate has a 94 lexus sc400 and his windows are not tinted.
when we get in his car, it's always 9,000 times hotter than my tinted camaro.

they are basically the same size.
i've never heard of tint trapping heat.
my personal experience leads me to say get it tinted. but i could be wrong.
who knows anymore. ask john hopkins! haha.

no. And if it is indeed hotter, its nothing noticeable, at least not here. And thats besides the point, tinted windows look BADA$$!

Tinted windows are a good reason for cops to stop you for no other reason, and then give you a ticket. Leave tinting for the ricers.

On my tahoe I have the windows all blacked out, and it was hotter then they werent tinted. It does keep from the sun rays heating everything up

i just got my windows tinted not to long ago. 5% (limo) on the back window and 20% on the sides. The guys that did it for me said that the 5% would heat up the car and if i went with 20% it would stay cool. So i went with the 5% and they were right its hotter that before, but no big deal. I just roll the windows down when i get in.

your interior is definitely not going to be as hot. just might want to see what is legal around you because you don't want to attract unwanted attention

The air in your car will always get super heated if the doors are closed and the windows all the way up. Window film is designed to cool the interior down faster once you hahve your air running and keep it cooler with less load on your AC unit...
