Patrick 03-20-2005, 01:01 PM the biggest issue that you may run into is the ignition...with EFI...everything works together, .i.e the fuel system, spark, so on.. however...going TO a carburated system should be easier...i would suggest going to an aftermarket ignition system such as MSD... nj85z28 03-22-2005, 09:26 PM you have to change the fuel pump, otherwise the high pressure FI pump will destroy your carb. then, just turn around and sell the pump orginally in the car, alot of ppl do the opposite of what your doing and require a higher pressure pump DarkBirdZ28 03-30-2005, 09:56 AM you not only have to chenge that fuel pump but the lines as well. you'll have to change the suspension and the transmission. I think you'll have to change the rear end and drive shaft too. the best thing is to find a donnor car that has the stuff you need. nj85z28 03-31-2005, 07:21 PM i agree. just a get a wrecked IROC or Z28 and swap, swap, swap! everything that is different must be changed D83ZAdams 01-25-2006, 06:12 PM why do u have to change the trans and rearend? On my 83 crossfire all i had to do was run a fuel pressure regulator, i used the stock fuel pump and just turned the pressure down. As for the ignintion I ran a indepent msd system. But it may be diff on a 85 idk? nj85z28 01-25-2006, 07:16 PM because hes swapping from a V-6 to a V-8. McNasty 01-26-2006, 10:26 AM dont really have to change the suspension in it... but once he starts riding in it he will want to... itll handle like crap with that v8 in it unless he changed it v8chvyguy 01-29-2006, 12:11 PM Most of the suspention parts are the same the only difference is the springs, front brakes, and maybe the master cyl. The trans needs to be swaped that 85 probably has a 200 metric BOP tranny in it. |
