And yes it is all the time, i hit them with invisible glass and they dont disappear. thirdgencamaro 06-20-2006, 11:42 PM then it could be the tint i dont know if you could remove the old tint and get it redone thirdgencamaro 06-20-2006, 11:42 PM then it could be the tint i dont know if you could remove the old tint and get it redone thirdgencamaro 06-20-2006, 11:43 PM then it could be the tint i dont know if you could remove the old tint and get it redone thirdgencamaro 06-20-2006, 11:44 PM ya sorry about that tannerd 07-10-2006, 08:09 PM if the spots are on the outside try a 50/50 mix of vinegar(sp) and water, used it on my car a couple days ago and it works fairly well Blade 07-30-2006, 11:56 PM I had a '91 with the same problem with the factory tint. There was nothing I could do to get the spots off the glass. I think that when they installed glass in the t top frame it had to be wet or something. Beside the people in the factory putting the cars together, do you really think that they care what its looks like? Also do you have a different color on the glass like a stain it the best way I can explain it. I had that too and couldnt get it off tried all kinds of chemicals. digiti 08-01-2006, 11:02 AM It may have been a flawed solution that they used when tinting that year's T-top glass. 91 Z 09-17-2006, 05:18 PM What you may be seeing as water spots on the exterior side of the glass, may be just water spots. I have them on my 96 RS. It is caused by acid water. Acid water or rain is prevalent in New Jersey because of all the refineries and coal buring power plants. And other industial factories. I use RainX to clean all the dirt and grime off of the glass and then use something like Glass Wax of years ago. I might be dating myself. Remember during Christmas back in the Sixties. Some of us as kids would use stencils and pink Glass Wax to decorate our windows for the Holidays. Try It! What do you got to lose. JD1969 09-23-2006, 11:57 PM If the 50/50 water vinigar solution does not work try a super fine rubbing compound and a buffer. shnormo 12-26-2006, 03:31 PM We use clay bar to get things out like that. As an alternative to rain x we use Aquapel ($12/application) or claybar the window and wax it for $6. Rain x deterorates the wipers. If they are really stubborn, we use body shop prep. v8chvyguy 12-30-2006, 01:56 PM ORIGINAL: shnormo We use clay bar to get things out like that. Clay bar works great on glass, I just wax the glass with the same Mothers cleaner wax that I wax the car with. It's cheeper anyway. Also, after you wash the car, rinse it a second time with filtered water instead, it will reduce waterspots significantly. bigblockhemi 03-14-2007, 07:51 PM I don't have any of that fancy stuff on hand but I had the same issue and just sprayed the t's really good with foamy window cleaner and took a blade to it, looks good and no scratches or water marks anymore. AThumbTack 03-15-2007, 12:59 AM Ive read that buffing with a chrome polish does wonders... soon as weather breaks I have to do it to all my windows cause they are spotted ALL OVER... and as 91Z said about Jersey, thats where my car was bought and had sat for awhile under a cheap none waterproof car cover. maro2 05-08-2007, 12:56 PM yeah mines the same way i think its the tint The Banks 05-09-2007, 10:09 PM Are the spots on the inside or outside? If its on the outside its probably a build up of hard water spots, try waxing it then cleaning it with automotive glass cleaner. |
