It was a 4th gen, but I am guessing an LT1, as it looked a little raggedy. My mods: 4:10's, CAI/Tune, 275/40/18's (all the way around, is that a plus or a minus, lol). Anyway, it wasn't close. From a dig pulled about 2 cars on him and held it until he got off on the nearest sidestreet he could. All those cubes on me and no-where to go:(

Later in the night I got whooped by a pretty ratty looking 2nd gen. It must have had it where it needed it though, lol!!!

Yeah, the 2nd gen looked really ratty, but was super loud, had those cheesy looking ladder type rear stabalizers, crappy rims, I mean it looked like a true back yard built warrior. It was pretty quick though, lol!

Yep, there are Mustang forums. The sister site of this one (mustangforums.com) is actually popular, and people actually visit it. Regularly. Lots of them. Unlike this site, that seems very dead, and should be happy when ANYONE posts on it, regardless of what kind of car they drive.

There are a few things I do understand about the concept.

1. They have not committed to making it yet, so it's still a concept. Unlike the Challenger, which Dodge has committed to building.

2. From the ass the concept looks like a Cobolt.

3. From the front the concept looks like a Caddy.

4. From the side the concept looks like a 1st gen Camaro. Thankfully they got SOMETHING right.

5. Unless the concept runs 11 second 1/4's, it won't run over everything I own.

Actually with all the money I have into my cars I could own you. Literally. Like, your parents would actually give me a bill of sale for your servitude type of own. But, that's neither here not there! One of the reasons I post here is because it's a sister site to Mustangforums.com, and I want to see it succeed like MF does. This board is DEAD. 450hp should be low 12's no problem, my friend has a 06 Mercedes CLS55 AMG and ran a 12.1, car has 469hp and wieghs as much as a greyhound bus :D

Stan if i had a 3.90 rear end and a turbo 400 tranny then ide offer to meet somewhere but my car couldnt beat that mustang as it is right now. getting those listed, an aluminum driveshaft, a barry grant 700 that im like a week away from getting, and a set of aluminum heads with bigger valves along with a cog belt drive is going to finish off my motor and driveline, but as of now its not the most amazing thing in the world. getting it dynoed soon but calculators have estimated 327 horsepower and 365ft lbs of torque. but having a 2.73 rear end is really hurting at the moment. you can tell when you floo rit at lower rpms. the motors right on the tranny but its the speed climbs before the rpms even move.

Whats the Cobra putting to the ground. When I was shopping for a fun car, I had my mind made up on a 03-04 Terminator, but they were still over $30,000 locally. I ended up buying my Stang for $25,000. I have several dealerships in the area looking for an 04 Mystic Cobra. I am thinking they should be coming down in price quickly as the new Cobra hits the market and people start trading them in!! (I am hoping anyway, lol)

Bad thing about 4th gen Camaros is everyone knows that they are ass kickers. You could never have a sleeper 4th gen, lol. When I was watching another SRT get dynoed out in OH (he put down 420ish to the wheels BTW), we did it at a shop that specialized in 4th gen's. They had a 2001 Black twin turbo car they were tuning (they couldn't get it tuned right, they had spark plug issues, and everyone knows how fun of a job THAT is, lol) but even with the spark blowout, they were making 725ish to the rear wheels, which is impressive, don't get me wrong! I plan on being close to 600 on the race tune with my SRT. That's a 4 cylinder with 1 turbo, and no-one will ever see it coming. That's the fun of the SRT. My Stang is my poon-mobile, nothing more, nothing less. Well, it is still more fun to drive than the SRT. RWD>FWD every time!! But the SRT, that's the "I can't believe a Neon just whooped my ass" car. Fun times.

Damn I haven't put it on a Dyno since I got Dyno tuned but it put down 478RWHP & 451RWTQ...

Edit:Oooops check with my tuner today and it was 481RWTQ not 451RWTQ (Ithought that didn't sound right)[8D]...

So close to the magical 500/500 club. That's the great things about Cobras. Yep, they are as expensive as hell, but man are they made for constant abuse, and they handle cheap mods VERY well. Terminator Cobras=Yummy!!

What all does your friend have into his SRT to make it run 10's?? There are only 2 in the nation that are street driven, so I would know his car (or screen name) if I saw it, as I am obviously up on the SRT scene. And why wouldn't he rub it in?? Isn't it fun to run a Z06 in a 4 door econobox and beat it? Isn't it about the ONLY reason someone would want a fast Neon? There are a lot of musclecars/Tuners in my area, michigan has a lot of sweet spots for cruizing ie. woodward ave, gratiot ave. so i see all types of cool ****, ford GT's S7 saleen's, ferrari's, lambo's and all the classic beasts, coronet,charger, shelby's, camaro's/Trans am's, GTX, cuda's you get the drift.

i cant really bash mustangs because my grandfather races for ford, he has a 65 stang turning 900+ hp and low 8's in the quarter, sponsored by A&W root beer.

he also has a Olds funny car with a 2500+hp alcohol injected Blown motor. that ran 5.20, 5.174, 5.189, 5.154 in the quarter mile, and took the park record in raceway park indianapolis in 92 when driven by cruz pedregon, it is a very expensive car to race, but i have been hounding him about getting it going again.

every since i was a kid i just allways loved camaro's. BTW- thank you for the compliment, your stang is looking good as well

Woodward, I made it last year for the 1st time, and I won't miss it again. I actually have some time in the Detroit area, downriver especially (Wyandotte, Southgate, Taylor(tucky)), as my ex wife if from there, and I still call her mom my mom, and see her whenever I get the chance. I will be staying with her when I come out for the dream cruise this year. Gotta give the Detroit area it's props, you don't see many ricers around, especailly during the Dream cruise! Next time I am out maybe we could go out for a cold one, I always like to meet forum members so I can put a face to the name. Besides, it will be the weekend of the dream cruise, so maybe we could find someplace off Woodward to run our cars!

yea, its really great when all the older cars and musclecars get together like that, i usually cruze for an hour or2 and park over at 15 and woodward, auto europe(lotus dealership), or 13 mile at Dugan's.
woodward is filled with cops, but i know a few spots where we could run em 4 sure! If you bring the joke as you say lol ,srt4 i know a couple people with 4,400 lbs cars or more that would give you a run 4 the money as well, compliments of mike, and big slim at motor city marauders!

Poly bushings all the way around, adjustable shocks, solid motor and tranny mounts, traction bars, and slicks are the answer for my SRT, and I still will be having problems I am guessing.

I was driving my 82 Berlinetta down a not so busy road one day and a woman pulled out in front of me not looking and I slammed on my brakes and slid sideways. I tried my best not to hit her but did not suceed. Actually she hit me, but whatever. She got me with the passenger front corner of her can and it hit right behind the drive door on my car. My car had a scratch on it, it really didn't even bother me. Her car was ruined. The whole front was folded in, the hood was bent, it was awful. Looked like someone punched a peice of aluminum foil. So being able to drive fast is not all it takes to have a good car. It was Thanksgiving and I was on my way somewhere and apparently she was too and she is rich so we didn't call the cops or nothing, but I know it cost her a lot to fix her car, mine was, and still is, fine. Actually, tomorrow in the daylight I will take a picture of the scratch, it just started rusting a few days ago. :( But that just goes to show how solid a Camaro is, how many mustangs that old do you see driving around every day??
