I assume you have 2010 V8. You could add the one used for the Corvette (Eaton) or a Magnussen or Whipple screw type. In any event the engine management will need serious reprogramming.

Yes it is 2010 V8

I have been looking at Hennessey and Vortech, Vortech is saying that the supercharger they use works better with the automatic car than the supercharger Hennessey used but that could just be a sales line...

there might be some truth behind that actually i had previously heard that the hennessey kit does suffer a little power loss with the automatic version ( i believe it was on a video review of the hennessey kit that i watched on youtube)

so yes i have heard that about the hennessey kit but don't know much about the vortech kit

I just read the Hennessey write up & have read up on the Vortech.. Either way it sure would be a fun build as long as you can get the electronics to agree with everything..

personally I think it would best to wait on on a few people to install them first. The 5th gen is still a very new car and Im sure they're still working the bugs out of the electronic issues with a S/C install. If you wait a lil while and let someone else learn by trial and error, I'm sure it'll save you some headaches and cash in the long run. But that's just my:icon_twocents:

i put a maggie on my l99. i tuned the tranny, and did a 12.4 with stock exhaust and intake.
only bug i found was the boost triggering a p0556 cel brake booster circuit performance.
ii think boost takes the sensor out of range, so a check valve in the vacuum line would work well. for now i tuned out the code. i say got for it.

I think you right when you say I should let others work out the bugs first.

Thanks

I just don't understand why you guys want to S/C a small v-6 in a car that was desgined to handle a v-8. A charger runs like 3 to 5k once you add in supporting mods right? For the same money you can pick up a tired 350, have it re-worked, and upgrade your trans. You'll end up with more hp and proally save a lil cash.

Dont feel alone brother! I'm broke as a convict myself, but how can you afford a S/C but not a V-8?

i found a used supercharger that can be retrofitted for a 2.8 from a private seller for 300 and the chip i was looking at is only 160 so i figure for around 500-550 i could do this and still keep my crankshaft intacted for the time being until i can get a bigger engine. because if i get a bigger engine i want something in the 4's like a 454 but then i would have to get a transmission to handle it and possible a heavier duty rear end so i think the first option is cheapest right now

Your gonna blow that thing to hell. But hey if you can do it for 500 bucks it's worth it if for nothing more than chits and giggles. Good luck:)

I install Manuson kits on camaros and they install very nice and look almost stock. they are very reliable and as far as tuning you can have them flash your computer or have custom tuning like we offer at the shop i work at.
