View Full Version : stupid firewall. kdurlin 03-05-2005, 02:16 PM how in gods name are we supposed to run 6g power wire from the battery through the firewall... am i going to have to drill a hole :(. nj85z28 03-05-2005, 11:13 PM yup drilla hole and run the wire down under the dash and then behind the plastic on the drivers side and under the doorsills. its for an amp right? JenkinsAudio 03-07-2005, 11:55 PM My 96 has a little rubber insert where wires run into the firewall on the passenger side. It's hard to get to , but u can get to it without drilling or removing any parts. YoungGun_Mechanic 04-28-2005, 11:56 PM Yes your car should have factory holes, BUT you shouldn't be able to fit a 6g wire through it. you will have to drill a hole, and then run through. Just make sure you use a grommet on that hole so it doesn't cut through and ground itself. Personally I would run a 0g wire down along the frame of the car, and let it come up through the trunk so I don't have the nasty wires, and have a clean look. But thats just me. Have fun! camdriver98 06-02-2005, 07:13 PM I have a 98 camaro and there was a hole on the passanger side with a rubber plug. It is plenty big enough to run a 6g wire through it. I ran a 6g wire through it and all my wires for my underbody light kit. The hole should be around where the glove box is. It is difficult to get to, but it is better than dirlling a hole. Good luck!! Camaro02Car 09-03-2005, 08:26 AM I am guessing you have already done this but I am trying to hook up my amp and instead of going to the battery I am taking 12v constant on from behind the cigerette lighter under the center console. Then i am getting switched power from behind the center air conditioning because I dont have thoes extra buttons and found a switched power source. |
