allegedly, the GTO's re-release may have a negative affect on the Camaro's possible production. thoughts?

it might but it all depends on what they make the Camaro look like, y'know? I like the GTO because its got 400 poni's out of a 5.7 ltr and to the rear wheels with posi rear. I like that. I want to drive one so badly. I hate the way they look though. interior is nice. the way they have the suspension setup is amazing. but cant wait to see what the new Camaro will look like. the first production line model should show right around a year or two before it hits the showroom floors.

Don't like the GTO too much engine sounds nice.

If they do come out with a new Camaro what will it do to existing Camaro's bring prices up or down?

Thanks

Was that a yes to go higher in value or lower? I'm debating to keep my SS or sell it now. Either way low miles 400 or so. Your thoughts

if you have a last run camaro, it will be worth something...because it was the last run of the F bodies.

My 2002 Camaro SS 35th Aniversary convertable 6spd. was nuber 3199th Z4C built I pulled it out of the garage yesterday and started it up. Only 686 km which is approx: 400 miles.

I would love to see these cars start coming up in value and surprised that it's taking this long....Ther hasn't been a Camaro built since 2002 you would think someone would be begging to buy my new car. Convertable 6spd all the options SS slp etc... Maybe the market is not there for Camaro's. Which makes me think why produce them again?

I would keep your ss since it would be worth something especially with that many low miles. Good luck. Make the right choice.

Well decisions decisions hmmm? I don' want to put milege on simply because when I do sell I wish to make some money back. On the down side hard to look at a car and not drive it.

So do you think that a new Camaro will lower the price on the 2002?

Maybe that should be a new thread?

Thoughts welcome.

You will need to sit on that SS for another 10-15 years before it is worth any real money.

if youre buying cars as investments, you should start looking into cars that are older than 2002...;)

Plain and simple. The GTO should have been relaesed as the Buick Grand NAtional. That would have been a cool ass Buick. It doesn't do anything for me as a GTO. Looks like a Grand AM with aftermarket headlights.

GTO-wouldnt' buy

Grand National - 95% chance I would buy

agree....disagree??

i really dont care what they called it...and i dont think that it woudl have sold much better with the buick naming, but they could have easily done both, just like the skylark and cutlass were the same cars in the late 60s/ early 70s...

although the new gto's are definately bland in styling, they are in fact rather nice as a sports car. i work at sonic, and so i get to see quite a few cars, and by far the best sounding has been a 2005 gto.....obviously not stock but that doesnt matter. as for the camaro resell, i think there is a huge market, just look at the new mustang sales.

Pontiac should have left a lot of the styling alone when they took the Holden Monaro and changed it to a GTO. Holden pretty much had it right already and Pontiac came along and Grand Am/Prix'ized it. From what I hear, GTO will no longer be imported from Australia but made in the States and GTO and Camaro will be very similar in body and engines almost like a Firebird/Camaro relationship but not quite as close so consequently a redesigned GTO will debut the same time the new Camaro's come out. Honestly, unless the GTO's redesign is totally kick-ass I don't think it will impact Camaro. The GTO that's out now isn't selling that well as is.

That's what's great about it. We got our '04 with the supercharger, exhaust, aftermarket hood and dealer option wheels for just under $34. Why you may ask? The '05s were just starting to hit the lots and they had reduced the price of this one to the price of an '05 basically. We couldn't turn down 75 extra ponies and 85 extra ft-lbs for the same price.

Isn't that what makes it a GTO? The nondescript look with a lot of power? I know that's what we love about it.

I couldn't agree with you more! Why preserve a car for someone else to drive. When that new Camaro comes out I'm going to drive it!

Depends on who you ask if it has been canceled or not. If you are curious, you can always visit the other website I am a member of (for GTO purposes anyway): www.ls1gto.com.

according to GMinside news, they are cancelling the GTO for about 12-24 months. the only reason is that the new platform is not ready, and GM only signed a 3 year agreement with Holden.

True they did only have a three-year contract. The real question, not to get sidetracked about a diferent model than the Camaro, is if they will make a new GTO here in the states. Personally I don't think it will happen. Besides I have also heard that they will not make a Firebird version when they bring out the Camaro. That leaves one to speculate if they will can Pontiac in the next decade or so.

i grew up around the old gto my dad had 3 at difrent points i love the 65 but the new ones look like a over glorifide grand prix and is a discrace to the name. same with the new charger it looks like a magnum th just shortend a couple feet. out of all thes new cars id have to say that ford had the styling concept down with incoporating some of the old with the new with the mustang. ive seen some conceps for the camaro that look great. hopfull chevy dosent put out a colbalt with a fancy body kit and slap camaro on it.
