First off I just want to thank everyone for the votes. I have a ton of work into my car and it's nowhere near finished, and I was fairly surprised when I won. I also want to say good luck to microkid, c4maro, Danthemanz28, and Saint Ebony with their Cars in the future.

Alright, on to my car. She's a 1983 Camaro Z28 that was originally a crossfire injection car. It was factory optioned with the two tone black and gold, fiberglass air induction hood, G80 LSD rear end with disc brakes and 3:23 gears, rear wiper, leather seats, cruise control, power windows/locks/mirrors, and basically every option available.

When I was 14, I rebuilt an engine that I found behind my father's shop with intentions to drop it into a car. I bought my Z with a tired 305 for $900 when I was 15. I'm now almost 17 and still working vigorously on the car.

The engine is a 350, 4-bolt main (3970010 casting.) Mods list includes: Scat steel crank, steel rods, forged aluminum pistons, Melling high volume/pressure oil pump, double roller timing set, mild cam, Edelbrock Performer intake, Holley Street Avenger 670 Carb, shorty headers, MSD coil, Jegs high volume fuel pump, Flex-a-lite flex fan, and a few other odds and ends.

Transmission: 700R4 built by Steve at Downtown Transmission in Davie, FL. I HIGHLY recommend him. Parts include a billet input shaft, high volume oil pump, kevlar bands, kevlar coated "Z Pack" clutches, corvette servos, Transgo shift kit, 2300 stall converter, TCI lockup kit, B&M ratchet shifter, and of course a few other things.

The car: New shocks and struts, Energy Suspension Bushings, new ceramic pads/rotors/calipers all around with stainless braided lines, Aeroquip Stainless Braid Racing Hose from the tank back, Optima Red Top, Flowmaster 80 series muffler, 235/65/15 BFG Radial T/A's, Sun Pro gauges, JVC H/U with Pioneer speakers, 145mph speedometer, etc.

As I said, I still have a LONG way to go. Next is body work and paint, then interior. Eventually the engine is going to get pulled out again and the car is going to be fully restored.

Here's some pictures:

congrats JR, awesome looking car..what do you plan on doing with the paint and body?

I was planning on doing the body work myself. However, I decided I'd rather save up and have it done RIGHT. From a few body shops that I talked to, I figure I'll be in the 4k range to have the body work done, new fenders, bumpers, paint, decals, and emblems. Well worth it IMHO to drop it off and pick it up a month or two later in perfect condition.

Dan, my dash lights are actually purple, they look blue in the picture. However I just removed them a couple days ago. I couldn't read any of the gauges at night. I don't know if this was because of the color, or the brightness of the bulbs.

Here's a site to give you an idea: http://www.installer.com/lights/

You need the instrument panel bulbs, #194 should be the brightest.

Here's a little sneak peek at the next thing on the list:

I spent 7 hours wet sanding and compounding the car today. No pictures because I still have to take the high speed to it and wax it. I only put quick wax on it to keep it from oxidizing until I get around to waxing it.

I think you are by far our youngest ride of the month winner ever. Thats a big accomplishment for some one so young in a very strong field of 3rd gens. Keep up the good work. Remeber ride of the year is only a few months away ;)
