she is currently a work in progress. 36,000 original miles, I picked it up with around 23,000. Has zero rust, rebuilt 700R4, no engine at the moment. Future plans include a Blueprint Engines 355 crate engine, Moser 12 bolt drop in rear, subframe connectors and a full tubular k-member and control arms, as well as all the other needed parts to run 450 fuel injected ponies. Plans are to run low 12's and still get about 14mpg and a decent highway cruise

my car is a 1986 camaro z28. Motors all stock which isn't very good considering it's a 305:icon_doh:. Gotta fix that. but yeah i had to covert all my grey interior to black which id a very hard painstaking process. I have cragar ss rims 17 in x 7 in., 5 x 4.75 in in the rear and just regular size in the front. i got my paintjob done by a tattoo artist here in town for a steal (300 bucks!). The paintjob under the flames however costed me a little bit more, it was about 4000 with a little bit of body work. it is black with gold flakes.
i voted for jr mechanic. He has put a lot of work into his car over the years

My car is a 1983 Z28 and started life as a Cross Fire Injection car. I started the build when I was 14 years old (now almost 17) with a 350 4 bolt main that I found behind the shop:
Packed it up for the winter and by the next summer I was ready to buy a car. After a year of hunting, I Found
a 1983 Z28 with a tired 305 for $900 bucks:
After removing the 305, installing all new brakes and suspension components, and having the transmission built, I was ready to drop the 350 in and fire her up:
Well, might as well do m'best to get my info out there, although I'm not doing as hot as the last time :/
As I said, it's bone stock, and staying that way. It's just a 305, TPI. Auto. Born the same year I was, 1987. 'tis in near-perfect shape, just has a few scratches to buff out and needs a garage to be kept in. I put new tires on her earlier this year, replaced the old, worn-out Radial T/As with a new set of BFGoodrich gForce Super Sport A/S.
I guess without a long list of upgrades to add in then I don't really have much else to say, lol. I thought about building up the engine it's got, maybe bringing it to around 300 hp, just enough to keep it competitive with today's muscle, but somewhere along the lines, I just decided I didn't want to. I love it just the way it is and to change it, even if it'd perform better, doesn't feel right to me.
So, here's the pictures~
These were taken last summer, right after my first time hand-waxing it.
YES the do, do yours? it's start'n to be a problem. do you know how to fix this
No sorry, i was just asking because i was looking into getting some rims that would end up sticking out about 3 inches, but now i guess im not gunna get them lol. Good luck with yours though. love the paint, 300 is a steal

When I picked my car up, it had some electrical issues, was almost 4 quarts low on oil which eventually led to a spun rod bearing, and needed new brakes, balls joints, and a most of the rubber suspension peices. It came out of GA, it was owned by a military sergent, who I beleive died in operation desert storm. The guy I bought it from was military, and the sergents widow decided to sell the car after sitting in the garage for 14 years. He brought it to PA, and had his fun with it, and somehow neutral dropped it into reverse at 25 mph, which grenaded the transmission and torque convertor. I bought it for $1200 and never regretted that decision. Its been sitting now since July '07 when the 305 spun a bearing, and I blew up the 305 December '07. I am going to save up about $8,00-$10,000 to do the car right. Upon some research, I found that not very many cars were ordered with the options it has-Silver and gunmetal paint, black interior, t-tops, power windows and hatch, posi rear, 4-wheel disc brakes, Tuned Port Injection, and the larger of the two sway bar options. I believe the production numbers with my RPO codes was under 6,000 for 1986
BTW, I picked it up just before I turned 17. I had no experience what so ever working on cars other than oil changes and exhaust, and decided to tackle the suspension and brakes myself. It took 2 months of hard labor to get everything done, as well as a house call from my mechanic to press in new ball joints. I got it on the road 2 days before Christmas so I could get to a friends house for her Christmas party, my previous car had the clutch going out and could barely do 45 mph.

Your car really looks great microkid. Just a little tip though, take your budget and multiply it 1.5 times. That's what it's going to take to get the car to where you want it. I'm over 6k into my car and still have a LONG way to go.
Well I took the Z to her first show, I didn't clean her up real well because I didn't know I was going until an hour before. I got tons of compliments on my car, which really surprised me since there were so many nicer rides there. Keep in mind that these pictures were early in the evening before most of the people got there.
yea tell me bout it i got 10 grand into mine already and i havent really done close to what i want do with it. But while were on it yeah i got mine when i was 15 also and im 18 right now.Very nice to everyone also, but i cant really say n/ething bad about n/eone on this site because as long as it's a camaro it's good in my book.

yea, my $10,000 estimate is a little higher than what i have written down for parts. i know just intake componants themselves are close to $1200 (injectors, tb, runners), motor is about $3,000, rear about $3,000, and all the chassis, trans, and suspension componants take up the rest. im going to port match everything myself, so that will probably get me another 15-20 hp because the factory ports are off by at least 3mm. and the tpi system doesnt work well over 4500 rpm in the factory spec, but i think i will get it to keep flowing past 5500
