Give it up for your favorite 3rd gen CF member, nominate their ride now!
Nominations are open for the August 2009 ROTM. We are going to run this until 15 August at midnight central time, unless we need more time for more nom's. Then we start the fun part, the voting and campaigning for your favorite ride and CF personallity.
Remember the rules before you nom and accept.
As with last month we will allow for non-current members to be nom'd, but if you nom them then it is your responsiblity to let them know so they can accept if nom'd twice.
The first order of business is to set up some hard fast rules. I will be monitoring the nominations threads very closely to avoid any confusion upon voting.
Eligibility
To be eligible a member must have a photo album. This is to ensure pics end up in the voting thread, so that the casual user can know who he is voting for. Anyone being nominated must also be an active member. This means he or she must have had at least 5 posts in the previous month. No one car can win ROTM twice in the same year regardless of catagory, but, if you happen to have more than one car, you can win once with each car. Also, a member cannot win the same ROTM catagory twice in a row with the same car. This means that bi-annual catagories can be won a maximum of once per year by a single car, and that annual catagories can be won a max of once every other year by the same car.
Nominations
Timmy nominates camarobob for ROTM
Jimmy 2nd's the nomination for camarobob
camarobob sees that he has been nominated twice and accepts his nomination thus ensuring his spot on the ballot.
In any given month, each user will have 2 nominations. You can give only a single first nomination andyouhave the ability tosecond someone else's first nomination, you cannot second your own first nomination. You cannot nominate yourself. Both of your nominations can be used to second previous nominations.
Nominations will take place during the first week and a half of the month PRIOR to the month of interest (ie, if we are doing march ROTM, nominations will start on Feb 1st and run for 2 weeks).
Because we are a reletivelysmall community right now the rules may be fudged somewhat in the interest of filling the ballot. However, if nominee #6 fulfills more of the requirements than nominee #3 (if for instance #3 did not accept his nomination) then #6 will win the ballot slot. If you are nominated without all of the requirements and decide to make the necessary updates be sure to PM me (or the moderator overseeing the current ROTM nominations thread) that the updates have been done. This way, if the entry comes down to a time stamp, we will be able to make a fair call as to who gets into the competition.
Once Nom'ed
Most of the time nominations will not take up the entire two weeks. Once a member is nominated it is his or her responsibility to PM me (or whoever is looking after ROTM at the time) with a URL to the picture they want used during voting (max 800x800 pix), and the URL of his or her photo gallery, as well as (optional) a brief description of the car to appear below the picture. The message can include mods, times, resto, or originality information. Do not waste your time making a long message because there are size constrictions and an overly long message will be reduced in size until it is illegible anyways.

she is currently a work in progress. 36,000 original miles, I picked it up with around 23,000. Has zero rust, rebuilt 700R4, no engine at the moment. Future plans include a Blueprint Engines 355 crate engine, Moser 12 bolt drop in rear, subframe connectors and a full tubular k-member and control arms, as well as all the other needed parts to run 450 fuel injected ponies.

You have to get the rest of that AC system out there but very nice man how about a few specs ;)
Jr. Mechanic
07-08-2009, 04:15 PM
Actually, I've decided to install the rest of the AC system. I swore I would never have AC on the car but driving in the South Florida heat it's just not worth it to get rid of a little clutter. I've got a brand new condenser, compressor, and dryer on the way for it, and I'll be making my own Aeroquip hoses.
Engine is a really mild build right now. Forged Aluminum pistons, eagle H beam rods, Scat steel crank, 280 duration/4.40 lift cam, Melling high volume/pressure oil pump, double roller timing set, Edelbrock Performer intake, Holley Street Avenger 670 carb, headers, Flowmaster 80 Series Muffler, and a few other goodies.

What kind of CR and Cubes are you running.
Saint Ebony
07-08-2009, 04:33 PM
Thats a sick iroc ebony. GT performance steering wheel would spice up the interior a bit? but if your staying stock i understand.
I'd thought about doing some engine mods, get it up around 300hp so it could compete with today's muscle, but ultimately, I decided I like it too much as it is to change anything. It's staying stock forever now. Thanks for the compliments~
Plus, sometime next year I ought to be getting to work on a 1969 Camaro that'll definitely not be stock, and I'll play around with that instead.

What kind of CR and Cubes are you running.
With the current heads (stock 350 heads, 76cc combustion chambers) probably around 9:1 compression. I was contemplating a set of Patriot Performance aluminum heads, but ultimately I decided I would rather put the $800 bucks towards paint. I have the old 305 from the car, and I think I'm going to pull the heads from it, have the valves punched out to some 2.02" stainless valves, and port/polish them. They're the double hump heads, and I believe they have 54cc combustion chambers, so I'm hoping that'll put me around 10:1-10.5:1 compression.

07-11-2009, 02:11 AM
Guys, totally my bad. Somehow I missed some accepts. Ebony, you are correct and we got four in the running. This should be a good race.
In case you don't know what to do, read the first post that has the rules in it. You'll know what to do after that. I'd like to get all your descriptions and pics before the 14th if possible for ya'll to do. The ROTM has slowed down the past few months so I don't know if we'll get a 5th for this. Hopefully next months will get more people involved seeing as how a ton of people on here have 4th gens.

You would have to talk to greenarrow about that one. Next month should only be 4th gen cars. I dont know if he plans on running a 5th gen only since we do have one or two on here now or hosting a free for all. I would personaly like to see a shot out at the end of the year with all 12 ride of the month winers for Camaro Forums RIDE OF THE YEAR. But hey thats just me.

07-13-2009, 07:38 PM
Hey guys, as far as the chevelle man goes. The rules state: "No one car can win ROTM twice in the same year regardless of catagory, but, if you happen to have more than one car, you can win once with each car." So there you have it on that.
ROTY is a done deal, we are doing it and voting will run the whole month of December, winner officially anounced 1Jan10. But it will only be the camaro winners of Jan-Nov that take part in it. The outlaw ROTM will run in Dec at the normal schedule, nom's first two weeks, voting last two weeks. They will not be in the running for ROTY as it is the outlaw ROTM, and we want a camaro named ROTY!
