This morning I just ordered my first brand new car...a black 2010 Camaro 2SS RS with manual transmission, black leather, Boston Acoustics premium 9-speaker sound system, polished aluminum wheels, and power sunroof...in my 21 years I have never been this excited!!! :D

My car right now is an '05 Mustang V6 with a few upgrades, but I absolutely had to have the new 2010 Camaro SS because GM has hit the nail right on the head with this one!! They took their time and perfected it and I just had to switch sides lol...I look forward to the monstrous V8 scaring the **** out of me after driving the V6 Mustang for a few years!! lol

they told me that chevy has sold so many of these that GM might end 2010 production early to increase demand on the 2011's...who knows?? :confused:
they said sales went from 14,000 (i'm guessing this is the SS manual orders because this is what we were discussing) to 20,000 in no time at all and that GM might decide to end production early with sales like this...:confused:

but then again a guy walks in saying "i'm here to buy a camaro ss" chances are the salespeople are going to say stuff like that to seal the deal...although the main salesman with whom i dealt is a family friend and my family has dealt with him for many years so who knows...oh well...lol

but all i know is that 6 months from now i will have "the beast"...and for that i'm happy :D

does anyone know how much dealers are charging for 2SS's in other parts of the country? just curious...i'm getting mine for MSRP plus $795 dealer charge but i remember when (and please pardon my mention of "the other pony car" lol) the GT500's came out dealers were charging way above MSRP in most cases [but then again, the cobra is a limited production car...] ...are dealers jacking up prices with the high demand?

so i changed my mind on the wheels...i like the polished aluminum wheels they look really sharp, but i thought about my black on black theme and decided to go with the rs midnight painted wheels...

if i'm paying for the rs package i might as well go with what i'm paying for and i might as well continue with my black exterior black leather, dark wheels theme...

i saved a little (only about $500...it really wasn't too much about savings because 500 dollars compared to a 36,000 car isn't too big of a deal)...but i'm mainly happy with the black on black on black theme i have going...

it'll be a big day the day "the beast" comes in...unfortunately i think i'll be on an international exhange at the university of guadalajara in mexico when it finally comes in but i've decided that it's worth it to fly up the weekend it comes in and pick it up and drive her to the garage myself and then cover her myself instead of having my dad pick her up or even worse let the dealership keep her in the meantime and let god-knows-who test drive and push her to the limit in the 20 minutes they spend with her...excuse my language but f*** that! lol

i just started thinking and thought it would be interesting to share in here....

so you guys know how i mentioned that i currently drive an '05 mustang v6? well as a kid i was always fascinated by mustangs and having either a gt or a cobra was always my dream...

getting an '05 v6 when i was in high school was like getting halfway there and whenever i would see a gt i would catch myself dreaming once again...even as late as a few months ago i thought my next car was going to be the new mustang gt...

but about a month ago i went to the chevy dealer in gallup, nm when they had a big event welcoming the new camaro, i saw my first '10 ss in person and was in awe and caught myself in extreme envy of the guy who had bought it and i convinced myself that i would have one no matter what...

so as i thought about it and realized i was financially able to do it, i realized that i was going to take my life long dream and blow it to shreds with an even better one...by buying a new camaro ss...

it was an empowering moment to sign the order and put down the deposit and know what would be coming to me in 6 months...i must admit i'm going a little crazy waiting for it to come in, but the more and more i see pictures and videos of them on the internet and even in person, the more i know how big this really is...it's not only a car...it's a dream that i've waited 21 years already to fulfill and i figure another 6 months is just a tiny step to that feeling of firing up my new camaro ss with 0 (well i will be realistic there will probably be a few) miles on it and inching it off the lot to take my dream and live it...

ha ha i bet chevrolet would probably like this post for a commercial...lol but the new camaro to me is more than just a car...it's a dream that surpassed my previous dreams beyond imagination

The window sticker hasn't posted yet, so I'm REALLY trying not to get too excited till I can see the sticker and be POSITIVE that its mine, but I can't help it, I'm PUMPED!! One more week for you!!!

i'm out of the country until the end of december on a semester exchange and i'll only be going back to pick up my car from the dealership and put it in storage in the meantime so i won't be able to enjoy it fully until then...so you'll have to let me know how much fun it is in the meantime!!! (although i do plan to enjoy it as much as i can the weekend/few days that i do come back :D :D)

but tomorrow is my big day!! hahaha i finally get to go from being an order number to an actual car!! hahaha :D

It is in transit on a train somewhere and I have no idea when it will get to the dealership in Gallup, New Mexico but I'm hoping soon so I can fly back up and pick her up!!! :D

well apparently our maintenance guys dont work on saturdays so they dont take deliverys, so im crossing my fingers for the call tomorrow that my car has arrived at the dealership, i have a days worth of leave ive saved for this day so i can spend it signing the papers and driving around town. . .i will post pics ASAP when it is in my arms :)

Congrats, just a heads up. All new cars must be inspected and driven by a GM tech before a non-dealer employee can drive it. Its called a new car service. Its the last QA check to make sure stuff is together right and nothing happen in transport. We rarely find anything wrong. But Monday mornings are normally hopping cause everyone that had trouble over the weekends is waiting at the door. Some of the larger dealerships have techs that do nothing but new car services but many do not. In a perfect world it coud take 2 hours to do the New car service and dealer prep (cleanup).

You will need a little patiency. The dealership wants to give you a safe, clean new cars.

so i got a little bit of bad news today...

well not about the car - the car should be in gallup no later than tomorrow (supposedly). but that won't matter too much anymore because i can't come back to the U.S. to pick her up for another 2 weeks because i had to register my student visa here with the federal government in Mexico and i just got the paperwork in today in order to do that and in order to get it registered they have to physically keep it which means i can't leave/return until i have it - which won't be until the 31st of august =/

so tentatively it looks like i will be returning labor day weekend which is 2 weeks away to pick up the car...

but some good news that is pulling me through is that once it does come in i told my dad and best friend to go down to the dealership with a digital camara and take a lot of pictures and, yes, drive it a little under the condition that they take a video from the inside of them driving it so i can hear it and see it a little and then some video of them walking around it and revving it so i can enjoy it as best i can from afar.

even though everyone says the camaro is a little too quiet upon revving at least i can hear something to get me through :)

i'm trying to keep calm and make the best out of....at least i'll be able to post pics and video for everyone to enjoy my car a little bit! :)

I got mine for sticker back in August of 2009. Most dealers wanted between 5,000 and 8,000 over sticker if you bought one that was in stock. I ordered mine and got it with no mark up, just took about 7 weeks. I got a 2SS, Cyber Gray, with two-tone gray leather, 6spd, boston acoustics, I love it.

I ran into a buying problem when I went to look at one. I drove 2 hours to see one that was in stock. I was gonna order one from them, I just couldn't decide on a stick or an automatic. I wanted the stick as long as I liked the clutch, so I went in and told them I was gonna order one, but wanted to test drive the stick they have outside for just a mile or so to see if I liked it, I had already drove an automatic. The salesman told me that the car already has 100 miles on it and hes not gonna let somebody like me make it 101. I guess because I was wearing an Affliction shirt and an Affliction beanie. I guess he didn't like my appearance. So I told him to forget it, if I couldn't look at it then I wasn't buying it. He said I had to buy it first then I could look at it and I said it doesn't work that way. So he stood up threw a folder of papers at me and said if you change your mind you know where to find us. I was like WTF! So I left, went back to my hometown area and ordered one that day. I wrote like a 3 page email to their GM about what happened. He apologized profusely and asked me to give them another chance and come back. I told him about the 2 hour drive each way, and said I would never come back after being treated so horribly. When I picked mine up in August my buddies said I should take it up there and get the salesman and rub it in that he screwed up. Oh well, to make a long story short, never buy from Reliable Chevrolet in Springfield MO.

Same thing happened to me when I bought my last car (before the Camaro). I was looking at G35, 350Z, or Eclipse GT. I was at the Infinity dealer in HI and just coming back from the beach. I wanted to look at a 6spd and the guy said there were none. I asked what about the one in the lot and was told it wasnt for sale. I asked why it had a sticker on it then and he said it was sold. Finally I just left and ended up getting the Eclipse saved $$ too.

I got my Camaro from Go Chevy in Denver below MSRP and love driving it through the lot down in the Springs where they want $5K over.
