DarkBirdZ28 02-17-2005, 09:37 AM from what i am told you can. but if you bump the shifter by accident it will go into another gear. it would be like the shifters you put in street rod trucks xxbassheadsxx 02-17-2005, 01:56 PM alright, thanx.........does anyone know a good place to look for a shift knob for this model then? nj85z28 02-17-2005, 08:17 PM just go with the B&M Console Megashifter....looks great DarkBirdZ28 02-20-2005, 03:52 AM doesnt hurst make one for the camaro too? nj85z28 02-21-2005, 12:27 AM i think ive seen one, but the B&M console megashifter is swwwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeettttt DarkBirdZ28 02-21-2005, 09:56 AM That is very true xxbassheadsxx 03-02-2005, 02:11 PM ya i agree that the B&M Console Megashifter is a sick looking shifter, but they dont make it for the 97'. the last year is 1992 for that model. Is this known to work on all cars?? Patrick 03-19-2005, 10:52 PM i dont know if it works on all cars..but it should work on any car that has a push down button...all you have to do to test it before you buy the knob, take the auto knob off and just get something blunt and see if it will allow you to push the level down. i have a friend who has a 98 RS camaro auto and she has a light up manual shift knob...the only thing, you cant really anchor it down, so it bounces around a bit... Camarok 05-17-2005, 09:10 PM is there any way for the E-brake to get a quick release becuase my e-brake handle is hard to pull back and set into drive :\ IBADRIDE 04-10-2006, 08:02 AM i have a dumb question i have a 91 Z28 5.7 i was looking at replacing my shift knob aswell but i went to see what i had to do to get the old one off well i saw no screws or anything so how do you get it off?? Aaron teamlilE1 04-11-2006, 01:11 AM I have an auto and I have an aftermarket shifter that is chrome with carbon-fiber center to it it's pretty nice I will post later what brand it is. mattvogt 04-20-2006, 12:40 PM IDABRIDE- I think, if its anything like my camaro (1981) then the push button might pop off and there might be a retaining clip inside. Have fun taking that off (they make snap ring pliars but mine were not deep enough so I just used 2 screwdrivers.) goodluck |
