well there she is boys. 97 SS convertible. main mods are lowered 1.5", zr1 chrome 17" wheels off a 99 SS, UMI rear lower control arms with relocation brackets, UMI subframe connectors, pacesetter headers with the ORY, SLP 2OTL exhaust, yank SS3600 torque converter, 3:42 gears, has factory ram air intake, JVC cd player, and 2 12" kicker subs.
I've owned it for about 4 years now. found it on ebay in vero beach, florida. bought it that day and flew down that weekend with a buddy and picked it up. drove it to daytona beach...got stuck in the sand, lol. we then drove it back up to iowa. since i've owned it, its never seen rain and has certainly never seen snow. have many plans for it...some of you know them, most of you don't. lets just say i'm working on something to take down spec, lol. thanks to those that nominated me...thanks to those that voted for me. i will not vote for myself, don't like that...wouldn't anyway and the person i'm voting for knows who they are. good luck to all and you all have very nice looking cars!

I don't have any recent pics, the aluminum bars in my headlight buckets are gone, the fishes are gone too. I also got rear fill-ins, and a hurst badge. Tails have been cleared too now. I'll get some new pics on saturday, the local club is gonna do some bracket racing, and I'm going to light those 315's up until the track vanishes for a good pic of it. I'm building an engine for this thing, I think y'all are going to be thoroughly impressed :D

Ok, the reason you don't see many engine mods is because nothing is wrong with my engine as it is, and it's my daily driver. It's been my daily driver for 11 years now and still going strong. It's been driven in Missouri winters, I've driven it from San Diego, CA to Key West, FL. And it's about to drive from Key West, FL to Tucson, AZ. I'm not going to touch the engine until it needs it, then it's going to get a mild 383 and possibly a blower. I don't know about the blower because I still want it to be a daily driver.

And Spec, what about a header or something at the main forum page telling people that voting is open for ROTM so more will come in and participate. I noticed that last month there wasn't very much participation from the members. I think this needs to be a more prominate deal on the board. This is supporting your fellow members and letting them know they are doing some great things.

T56 is out, SC is out. T56= only 1 person has ever done it, I'll get a built T5 in the future. SC is a secret money ditch waiting to capture it's prey. I'm going to do something that's all bolt together, no custom fab work. Should make about 300ish when I'm done with it (10.5:1 compression, large cam, work in the heads, etc), and I'll be able to spray 150 or more on nitrous with the forged flat top pistons I'm going to get.

Thanks alot for the compliments! and... those pins are there because my SS hood is an aftermarket fiberglass hood. The stock shocks have alot of pressure becuase they are made for a heavier steel hood. So on mine when I would go to close it, it would require alot of force to get the shocks down and the fiberglass hood would bend at the middle quite a bit. I was worried cuz it would flex alot!! So I drilled holes out of the shocks to release pressure ...polished and wrapped them in aluminized carbon fiber vinyl and use the pins to hold them up.
But I found a site with less pressurized struts that fit perfectly :)

Well almost ALL of that shiny stuff like mirrors, covers..etc comes off and I put it on for display only like meets or shows. The polished stuff stays along with little things like the polished bolts/washers..etc. Cleaning the engine & bay is usually 3-4hrs... & I do it about every 3-4 weeks. Getting it ready for meets or whatever is about 5-6hrs :(
I drive it 0-4 days week ...depends on weather and how I feel & stuff.
I looked High and low for just the right ones: something simple, clean, agressive, that goes with the theme of the car AND was a throw back to speaker grills of the 80's/90's.... and finally .... EBAY of all places had'em and then I just polished the @#%*!? out of them.

yeah i've been bounching around there and the audio section since that's what I really know I can help people out with. I know alot about the LT1, but most troubleshooting stock engines, therefore I'm not much help with modded engines.

No, I'm not going to do that. I've been a memeber of fbody.com for over 6 years, but it's gotten boring there and I didn't post much to begin with. So I went looking for something that fit me better and thus I happened here. I think I'm going to build me a little electronic wood cabin here and settle in for the long haul. Of course being the military there are going to be times where you won't hear from me for a while, but I like it here and everybody, well almost everybody. I don't know about that scooter dude yet.

Not new... Have over 3300 posts, and have been here a few years. I mainly just stick to helping in tech sections. Nobody has to make excuses as to why I don't have any votes. It doesn't bother me that I don't have any votes.

Thanks for the gesture... its well appreciated. This has been a great turn out. HOWEVER.... look at whats happened just in the last 48hrs, theres still another 48+hrs to go.... anything is possible... the champagne is still at the store! Well thanks for the nom and for all those that voted! But thanx for everyone who voted not just for me but for everyone. Sure there was only 62 votes but usually its in the 30's or 40's. So percentage wise this was a 50-90% increase in voter turn out!! It was dramatic, emotional and very close for the majority of the time.
I feel honored cuz this was a very tough lineup. And next time its gonna be a blood bath ! I'm glad I won't be in it! I don't think I can do one of these again... :D
