Thanks guys, i appreciate your love here,but i do not accept.Maybe when the next 4th gen ROTM comes around ill be ready.This is more about appearance than the work someone has put into their car.Im not ashamed to have a primered camaro,but i dont see my car winning against cars with nice paint jobs and chrome rims.

I would hope someone would not win just because of a nice paint job and rims. That should not be the only items a person looks at while voting for ROTM in my mind. Anyone can go out and get a paint job and rims, but to me they haven't earned it, they haven't slaved over the car to make it truely theirs.

The past you have had with your car should be as valued as the car itself.

see when i see a camaro with anything other then a nice set of wheels i think its ugly as hell.

But you can tell if it's a work in progress and that's something a person should be praised for now days. A car that has taken years to build up is worth more than going out and buying a car and putting rims and paint on it. It's taken me 11 years to get my car to where it is now. Granted most of my mods have come in the last 5-6 years. It's been my car, my daily driver for 11 years and I have put so much blood into it. Anyone that's done that for their car, deserves respect.

but, what if you take a car that sombody built, and you tear it down and repaint it, change the interior, and new wheels and sound system..is that still considered there car?

um...no.... It would be your car then becasue it's how you wanted it and you put the time and effort into it. And besides, you bought the car, so it's not theirs anymore.

If you kept it the same as it was, it would still be your car, but in my mind you shouldn't get props for it because you bought it that way.

I agree with you too GA.... I don't consider something to be someone's car until they put some time and effort into it. My truck is pretty much un-changed in appearance but I've put a lot of sweat into that thing, swapping heads on it, new carburetor, intake, distributer, a new radio.... and it really is MY truck. Really, MY truck, no one drives it but me. No one even washes it, fills it with gas, or pays for my gas while I'm around. ;)

yeah no one touches my car...i have a mechanic buddy that helps me do things to my car...but i keep my eye on him the whole time. my girlfriend might stand there and spray it with a hose, but that's it. she always freaks out when i whip the ass end around and says you're going to kill us blah blah...first off...i know exactly how my car will react so neither of us are in danger. 2nd...my car is my baby, do you honestly think i'd put you, me, or my car in danger? yeah no, lol

yep, same here. I know what it likes, and I know what it doesn't like... my truck likes to haul stuff. ;) it was made for it and it does it well!

i believe that even if you pay to get everything done, yeah it might be a nice car. But what did you to to it other than paying other people to work on it. If you don't do alot of the work yourself then you get no respect. I've done or helped do everything to my car. I had my buddy put the headers in for me, but I was there everyday after work when I could helping out. And when my car got the SS hood/spoiler and repainted, I was there. I fitted the hood, wet sanded the whole car and so much other stuff. If you customize a car and still think it's just a car then you're a dumbass.

Dang right, if you just pay other ppl to do it you're a ricer. You get no bond with the car if you pay people to do it... That's why I nominated Alih, who I will vote for whether or not he accepts. ;)
GA, you've got a REALLY nice car, but I've come to really respect Alih's car. Chances are you'll win it, but my vote goes to Alih. :)

Craigslist for wheels, thespoilercompany on ebay for spoiler, and purple duplicolor primer, with pink stripes :cool:

i got the SS spoiler off a 01 ss cause the guy blew the engine racing it with nitrous and was parting it out

Yah, gray would look better. Also, I know where I can get you some big mufflers for cheap that show from under the bumper, some turn down tips would really set the look off :D

Yah, he's got the white ls1 that lost part of the fender at speed, and the white V6 that has the black pinstripe on it.
