Has anyone swapped their v6 for a v8? If so, was there any problem, and was their any needed modifications to the chassis?

I also would like to know this..I have a 1994 v6 camaro and was wanting to upgrade to a v8 plz give any feedback.

as far as i know there is no problem in doing that but you will have to change out the wiring harness and the whole drive train

You guys' generation of cars is beyond me. I take it you all have 4th gen camaros... It all depends on what kind of V8 you are talking about. LS1, LT1, just a normal 4 bolt main 350? See what I mean? LS1's will require alot of work, like stated above. Your suspension/ braking systems are different, your drivetrain (Especially your rearend gears) are a little different. I have seen guys take out an LS1, and its just like how I took out my Fiero engine. You must lift the front cradle (Chassis, including transmission, engine, suspension etc. and lift the car off it, leaving it on the ground. I have never personally seen another V8 in your model of cars, so I can't really suggest on how it would sit, or fit in there. I know the LS1 is extremely tightly located, and there isn't enough room to change spark plugs.... I would have to suggest against doing it, unless you have an LS1 donor car..... Sorry!

I would only want a 305v8 thats all i want to know is if it will fit.

I herd that you have to change the gas lines and some other stuff(HARD) V6 gas lines are smaller than V8.....

Be careful of what engine you put in which car and try to get it inspected. By Federal law, you can put a newer model engine into an older car, but it must have all the pollution stuff that goes with the new engine, but you are not allowed to put an older model engine in a newer car. Which means you can put a 2000 engine in a 1985 car, but you can't put a 1985 engine into a 2000 car and use it legally on the highway.

well like you said its because of emmissions issues, and obvously an older motor would have more pollution than a newer one

The question of replacing a v6 with a v8 keeps coming around. It can be done, but it is a lot easier and most likely cheaper to just trade the car. It would be nice to have a section for FAQ and spell out the details on what is needed to do this, for the people that really want to do this.

This aside, it does not make much sense to replace the v6 with a 305 when the LT1 is a much better choice.
