because there is that hotrod cruise-in in a month or so. Our cars aren't old enough, but if we all park together, then we'l look like part of the show. Plus seaside is just awesome. I know a long way to get there, has tons of "tv style'" s curves on it. Some of it is so scenic, that it looks like it was made for a photoshoot. There's a park we can stop at on the way there for a lunch break, or just a breather. I took this road on my Goldwing, had the most fun I've ever had.

the "muscle beach cruz car show" is june 14th. That gives us time to plan things out. If we head that way early enough, we can get good parking. Last year, it was wild finding a spot for 3 motorcycles, we got there about noonish. This will be fun. There's another camaro club in oregon, I'll see if I can contact them, and see if they want to join. They're a real small club, I think they have 5 cars maybe.

I contacted the president of the columbia river camaro club, told him about the cruise idea. It's nice to give people a heads up as far in advance as possible. Who's your buddies in St. Helens? How about NWFB (northwest F-bodies)? I dunno, I'm tired, and probably sounding a bit on the stupid side right now. Plus I'm sick as can be. Wish you could join the cruise 73, it's only us two right now. Well, if I can get my friend to go for it, that makes 3. They probably never have seen it because I live out in Yankton on a black angus farm. We grow some of the best steak you will ever eat in your life. I think I'll have a bbq for us club guys. We lost compresion, so it's out being bored some more, and the valves replaced. Hard to make a 1979 honda keep going. Hopefully with it running right, we'll jump into the 9's. 1979 Honda CBX with the factory euro kit. The engine has been majorly modified. The sleeves were removed and the block was bored out, then new sleeves dropped in. Most of the work is in the head. Dad built it 18 years ago. He then put it up for storage, and pulled it out this year. So far, we've only run a 10.7, but that was with hardly any compression.

man that is one awsome looking bike, honda's are all i ride. you need to get some vids of that beast running and going down the road.

Yeah, it's a fun bike, he races it with that seat. But I think I finally convinced him to use a notched racing seat, he's sliding too much on the stock one. And you can't ride it on the road, it sits 2.5 inches off the ground. I plan on getting some video of it, but the engine is out of it right now.

But i was glad i went out last saturday i was driving by the lesshwab and there was like ten muscle cars just chilling out there so i go get my budy and we pull up and were checking out the cars and one of the guys ask me were my car was at cause i was driving the V6 so i went and got the 73 and i got to cruise with freaking dragesters and muscle cars it was freaking awsome with the smell of race gas and burning rubber.

The night before i had to run from the cops in my budys truck cause we were out whatching some ricer's racing and out of know were astate troper showed up and we all took off but one guy got pulled over and got a $760
ticket and me and some other people went and hid at somebody wearhouse, it was a freaking intense weekend.

how about you guys do any racing or cruising on the weekend,or do you have to drive drive to a nother town cause i have been to st helens and its not all that big.

St. Helens is a blip when you drive through on the highway, but it goes for miles up into the hills. It's actually a big town. I haven't raced anybody with the Camaro yet. Too afraid of wrecking it. I used to have a red corolla that I ran real hard. Yeah, a 4 banger, but it actually had some get up around 6 or 7 grand, but topped out at 8500. Raced a vdub up a long hill once, and I loved shooting around corners. It ran like it was on rails. Until when I met a corner in the rain that was covered in graval, and my racing tires where bald. Yeah.....

This is tricky the first time

The easiest way is to download picture resizing software. go to http://bluefive.pair.com/pixresizer.htm and click download under free download. Then in the program, load the pic you want to shrink. Click the little box that says maintain aspect ratio, and fill in 800 in the left hand box, let the right one do its thing. Click save picture, and voila, you have a small pic, perfect for the photo album.

oh, after the software is downloaded, you will need to install it.

Sorry about your syncro Joker, that sucks. My clutch is going bad too. I noticed when I was practicing launching it on some backroads out here. Got the tire back, so I'm on the road again. I need new rims bad, the chrome is falling off in 4 inch sheets, and the tires have stress cracks from age as well.

A project camaro would be a lot of fun. Instead of building my Jeep drag wagon, I could help with a camaro. It would be fun if we could get one to handle a 454, my uncles wrecking yard sells engines cheap, and we could pull one out of an old pickup and build it up a little. That was my plan for my jeep drag wagon, but a camaro would go a lot faster.

I haven't been here for a day or so, the city mower came through, and chopped every phone line on my street, so no internet, and no cell phone reception up here in the hills.

The flyer I have doesn't say, it just says as soon as possible. I think you can register the day of, but if we register ahead of time, we won't have to wait in line forever, and risk the chances of it filling up.

i have been busy this weekend we had a yard sale trying to get some money so i can putmy cherry bombs mufflers on my 73 camaro. i gottwo 26inch glass packs for like$48 and its going to cost me $70 freaking dollars to put them on.itsfreakingretardedall i need is the old muffler off i dont need new pipe cause its just going to dump under the car with turn downs. i just cant beleave that it cost $70 to put them on.

I believe that they are vette rims, but there is no flag on the center caps. The chrome is peeling inside the rim, so I'm going to have the local media blaster blast out the inside, then I'm going to paint the inside silver or black. The outside of the rims are fine. I just ordered black rally stripes for my camaro, can't wait. I'll be getting rid of my rims when I buy my new american racing wheels (staggered, black spokes, polished lip). 73, can't you just use some clamps and exhaust sealer? When I did the exhaust on my jeep, I bought this tube of tar-looking goo that you put on both fittings, then hooked them together, and clamped everything down. Worked like a charm, no leaks. I still have some araound here, got it at NAPA, I'll see if I can find it and tell you what it is. My local shop would do that for like $30 tops, he's cheap, and does impressive work.

oh, and should we plan for saturday night at PIR?

well the problem with my exhaust is the only way my dad will let me put glass packs on is by a professional,other wise i would just do it at school we have a badass meatal shop and we do exhuast on cars and trucks all the time.

joker by any chance did les schwab put your tires on last. cause they torque wheel lug nut down to like 200ftlbs and the first time they warm up they warp like no other. they did it to my dads old 87 pickup he made them replace both rotors for free.

well a lot of companys do that its a safety thing see if your tire falls off you cansue them if your rotors warp they cant get introuble, if you crash its twice as bad. thats why after you have them work on your car you losen up the lug nuts and torque them down to 100ftlbs which i beleave is what your car calls for. warped rotors suck but camaros like yours have really good breaks, but if you have ever drove a old ass car like my 73 the breaks suck butt,every time i get in the 98 i stop really hard cause im use to having to push the peadle to the floor to stop.

ya a lot of people dont, thats why they end up paying a few hundred dollars on brakes when it could have been avoided. if only they new right.

just dont make the mistake i made dont buy high performance brake pads they squeak and they put that nasty brake dust every were and it takes twice as long to clean your rims, and inless your racing your car alot there not really necseiasry there just a pain in the ass. but i'm sure you already new that. lol

lol, yeah, I'm a band geek. Hence the name musicman.... I had my own jazz band for a while. But we haven't done a gig in months. This is Swingset Jazz, this was the group I put together. This is the only recording I have, we played better stuff. Got a couple offers from recording companies to make a demo disk, but we never got around to it.

I've never heard of warping brakes from tightening the wheels down too much. That's interesting. I'll have to keep that in mind. I always buy the cheaper pads, as I don't use the brakes very often in a 5spd, vs an automatic where you live on brakes. My bonneville warped rotors so often that it was funny.

jazz band huh thats freaking cool, whish i had musical talent lol, but i was only ever good at football i guess being 6'2 and weighing 280lbs helped with that lol.

ya the 98 has a stutter problem replaced the coils and the part thr coils sit on cant remeber what its called, but the stutter is still there but only in the lower RPMS.

Come to think of it, the bonneville did have coil problems once in the past. It had the 3.8 also. We swapped em out for a set from my uncles u-pull-it yard.

joker what car are you asking about,the 73 has a worn out 350, and the 98 has a 3.8L v6. i'm trying to get my dad to sell the v6 and get a Z28 with a 6speed.

yeah, I plan on adding the headlight covers real soon, just getting things done slowly. This is what I'm planning on:

Clear corners with black housing
headlight covers
led tail lights

hopefully, but that's in the far future. The closest thing to my next performance mod will be a rear end swap for one with disk brakes and posi. Since I had the bonneville a while back, I had planned on building a v6 for it that could handle enough nitrous to euthanize an elephant. Luckily, that car and my camaro had the same engine, so all my research is done, just need about 7 grand and I'm there. The engine I had in mind was bored out some, had forged pistons and connecting rods, and ported and polished heads. Then a good cam, and all the other goodies. The short block alone will be almost $4000. when I get done though, there won't be many cars that could catch it. But I'm off to college next year, so none of this will happen for a few years.

Dad and I are having a debate. I wanted to build the big block jeep for drag racing, he wanted to build a fox body mustang, and we both think a camaro would be fun. But the mustang would go the fastest on a tight budget, the camaro would go the fastest with a medium budget, and my jeep idea would just be flat out cool, and not overly expensive. I dunno. Then there's the plan to sell his 79 honda cbx and buy that new hayabusa..... too many ideas.

lol, I could, but it ain't that easy. I would need all the wiring, computer, a new tranny to fit the new v8, motor mounts, etc. I've been debating selling the v6, and buying my favorite body style camaro, a 3rd gen with a 350 transplanted into it, but I need to save some cash on gas right now.

Got my stripes today, they aren't on yet because I'm a wimp. I'm worried about messing it all up. Gonna grab some masking tape tommorow, and then dig into it. I'm ordering corner and bumper lenses tonight, they have clear lenses, but have black housings. This thing is going to look sick.

I learned why this thing was rated poorly for traction in wet conditions. lol, had some fun in the rain yesterday, did a brake stand, had some smoke rolling off the tires :D My first camaro burnout, in the rain!

i remember my first camaro burnout, it actualy scared me cause it was throwing hella smoke and just keepet going and going with out even power breaking freaking awsome my car has torque out the ass.

lol, I've done burnouts before, but that was back when I had the corolla. lol, it was fun to rev it up to 7 grand, dump the clutch, and pull on the emergency brake for dear life. it would sit there all day, some people call em smoke machines. I thought the third gens are only 100 or so punds heavier than the 4th gens, I dunno. I just know that I wanted a carburetor car, and a car that had an engine elsewhere besides in the dash. The next plug changes will require some bloodshed.

Possibly, but we would need to pull it. My uncle's yard is a u-pull-it yard. The cars are in the air, and they should help with the pull, so it wouldn't be too bad.

Joker, the car show out at my school is going to be pretty small, won't be very exiting. But we could walk around, then hit the road for a hour long cruise. There's some turns on this road that look like s-curves out of a magazine. If you want to do this, let me know. Then toasted could come too. We could have a 3-car cruise. It's mostly covered by trees, so it should be a nice drive during the heat of the day.

Where's the cruise, and what road are you referring to? What day are we planning this? Gotta know for my work schedule ^^

Got the stripes installed finally, just working on the silver pinstripes to trim then, and I ran out of silver stripes. I walked out of school today, and people were walking by my car and stopping to lok at it. I'm not going to get pics up until I get the silver stripes done.

I went back to carquest today to grab more silver pinstripes, and the brand was discontinued, so I had to pull them all off. I bought em for $3, now the only silver pinstripes they carry cost $12. Oh, I HATE POLLEN! My car is getting more and more yellow everyday, just from sitting.

Thanks for sticking up for me 73 in that other thread, but the mods came through and cleaned up most of the maddness. Spartan just has a bit of an attitude, he's really a helpful member.

I've not taken my car down to the strip, but I've got a brand new clutch and hurst shifter being thrown in as we speak. I wouldn't mind taking it down one of these nights, just to see what kind of time I can pull. Plus, with what I kind of have in store, I'd be interested to see what it does as time progresses.

toasted and joker, do we wan't to cruise the loop on saturday, or go to the late night drags at PIR. I think PIR would be better for you two, seeing as how it's closer for you guys. lol, my sixxer would be embarassing, especially with the clutch it has in it. If you drop it at 3000, it'll take a second to grab before the car launches. I want a better clutch real soon, but I'm gonna try to wait until I can afford a good kit, and I guess I woill do a short shifter too, seeing as the tranny will be out anyway.

We could do both the drive and PIR. This loop is nice, but it's only about an hour and a half long, so it might not be worth it for you guys.

My friend's firebird is having terminal problems. It suddenly started blowing white smoke out the exhaust, and it smells like radiator fluid. Plus the ABS module went out.

sounds like a blown head gasket but i could be wrong was he racing or hauling ass when it happend

I never have time. I work Friday and Saturday nights, so track time is almost always out of the question. I didn't feel like my car was ready before, either. However, after driving it around a bit with the new clutch and shifter, I wouldn't mind taking it down to see what it could do :)

How do you like that new short shifter? Camaro's have a short throw as is. I'm looking at putting one in when I do the clutch in a few months.

I like the logo. No other special editions or anything like that I can think of.

And not all SS models came with a short shifter, either >_> mine being one of them. But my shift times will be crazy reduced. I put a new aluminum flywheel in, too, and I'm glad. The stock one was beat to crap, my mechanic wasn't sure if he would've been able to turn it down to eliminate all the wear.
