Anyone want to take guesses as to what is wrong with the car because I cant figure out why the hell it would be so cheap I am looking at possibly buying it myself and selling my beloved Camaro.

Did you see the car in person, or online? If it's online, it could be a scam.
Scammers post cars for sale (that they may or may not even own) with a "too good to be true" price to get people to bite quickly, send deposit money quickly, then the "seller" skips. If it sounds fishy, and you can't see the car first, run....

Yes it was on craigslist was the e-mail listedas lisalother. Here was "Lisas" reply.

Due the my promotion I am not in the country right now I am in Canada and the car is still in USA located at a shipping company in NY but dont worry with one call I can send the car anywhere I want so in couple of hours can be at ur door!My Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Ws6 1999 is in great shape, no engine problems,damages or hidden defects. It is in a good condition, no scratches,no damages,never been implicated in any accidents,no problems at the engine, runs very well. It has 5.7L V8 LS1. 3.0L ,65,000 miles, clear title, a perfect car and the price is only $4,500 firm.. I`m a single mother with 2 children because i divorced with my husband and after the divorce i have owned this car,i don`t need it and that`s why i`m selling it so cheap.The transaction will be made through a third company for the safety of both of us ,so we can be sure of the legitimacy of our deal.We will use eBay`s protection program for our safety. I'm a serious seller and a fair trader and I prefer to deal only with a serious buyer. Anyway, I have to let you know that I want a fast deal because I need the money asap and that is also the reason why I am selling it at a lower price... so if you are really interested in buying it, please reply. to

YEP, that's a Trans-Scam alright!
Let's see, a seller who lives outside the U.S., the car is located at a N.Y. shipping company, and a third party for the fianncial transaction? As I said earlier, I smell a big fish!!!! You can tell by the way their message is worded too that it's a scam, just doesn't feel right.
BTW, a friend's daughter has been looking for a Honda on Craigslist. Three times already she found a "too good to be true" deal, and the listings got yanked by Craigslist and tagged them as a scam. Remember the saying if it sounds too good to be true....it probably is.
I wonder just how many people get duped into wiring just a couple thousand as a deposit for that good deal, only to never see it again? Those kinds of scammers are playing on a potential buyer's greed, to get the deal of the century.

im confused why she threw the 3 liter in there.... also, scams will typically give you a sob story where an actual single mom probably wouldnt tell a stranger over the internet much more than "personal reasons". ebay cant always protect you. if someone does a scam on ebay the worst thing that can happen is their paypal can be drained and discontinued, not a big deal if the person has already taken the money out. and their ebay account can be shut down. also no biggie. id steer clear unless you can go see the car in person
