Mkay I'm currently rebuilding my 80 camaro and I need a new carb and want a new manifold. I'm looking at edelbrock right now for both but i've run into a snag. My camaro currently has an egr valve on it. I'm not too sure how the egr valve and the carb work together since the carb was stolen shortly after i got the car. Looking at the edelbrock website i see tha the carb that was reccomended to me (edelbrock preformance 1406) is for cars without egr valves. It says that I should use a different one (the preformance 1400) well in Texas my car is considered a classic and is exempt from emissions tests (whoo hoo). Can i just replace the manifold with one that doesnt have an egr valve on it and get the carb I want then replace the headers?
the reason i'm asking is the manifold i have is still good. i'm tight on cash and there is virtualy no price difference between the carbs. I would like to buy the carb i want now and get the new manifold in a month or so.
Anything you can tell me would be great.
Thanks
Chris
