I have a mild cam in my 454 with Hardin Roller rockers. There is a ticking sound on the drivers side that sems to be getting louder? I assume that I will need to make some adjustments, I just have not been able to get any reliable feedback from my mechanic. Any advice?

It could very well be an exhaust leak, they sound like a slight tick and come from that area. Depending on the severity you could possibly see black soot coming from the area of the leak, grab a little inspection mirror (like the one ur dentist uses, they can be had from about any autoparts store for a couple bucks) and check all around ur header gaskets. a top end header leak like this can warp valves if its too big.

FYI, i am going to move this into 1st gen tech, i think you will get more hits there and someone that may better answer ur question.

Depends on what cam you have too. You may end up adjusting the valves. Pull off the valve covers and start digging into it, check to see if there isnt anything out of the ordinary.

The roller rockers could be tapping on the valve covers... check your clearances.

I would usually agree with that, as a possible cause, if he was having a consistant noise but he says it is getting progressively louder. just sounds like you need to adjust your rockers and you'll be fine

specter is right on leak, id check that first, then pull the valve covers off and reset lash.
