I have an 83 Z28. I think my heater core went out because I have anti-freeze and water leaking on to the passenger floor board. There is nothing leaking outside of the car.
My question is how hard is this to fix? Is it worth doing it myself or should I take it to a shop.
Any tips or pointers on fixing it.

its not to hard, if yours still has it theres a plate that covers up under the dash on the passenger side, remove that(alot of them seem to be missing them) you'll see a black box, remove all the screws they can be a bit hard to get to but its easier than ripping off the whole dash, the cover will come off and you'll see a bronze heater core, disconnect the hoses in the engine bay, and pull it out, its pretty simple, there might be a retainer hold it in too, one of mine had it the other didnt depends on the past owners. might scrape up your hands a litttle from the tight space but its easy. their not real expensive either

You only need to post questions here once. People will see it no mater where it is in this forum. They are good that way. ;)
