Okay my 3.1 when i start it up will start up okay but it idles kida rough and then will flood out if i give it gas or let it sit for about twenty seconds, when the plugs are pulled they are blackend really bad, i put in a new set to see if it made any differance and it did the same thing. I checked all the fuel and electrical systems which are both in top shape, so ive now pulled the heads to replace the head gaskets because it was leaking arround them, i think oil was leaking into the combustion chambers, if so could that cause my problems. Anyone have any other ideas i can check if it still gives me this problem after going back together?

Did you notice the blackened plugs on all or just on the area with the leaking head gasket?

The plugs were like that on all six cylinders.

Possible O2 sensor not reading right. I had a similar problem where plugs were fouling just after 5 minutes of driving. What's strange is that there was no code.

Yeah i had thought about the o2 sensor but didint bother to replace it since it wasint showing any codes. Thanks for the tip im not real good with trouble shooting fuel injection, give me a carb engine and i can figure it out in like five minutes. But atleast im getting new headgaskets anyway deffinately needed it.

Check the fuel pressure and regulator function.The pressure regulator could have gone bad and allowing full pump pressure to the injectors.
