to swap to an LT1 or LS1 you have to change the tranny, wiring, motor and trans mounts, computer driveshaft and rear as far as i know

seems like too much work if you ask me. Sell the camaro and buy a v8

not to mention that you have a 6 and an 8 will take up a lot more room. A lt1 to a LS1 will be enough work but a 6 to an 8 is crazy. My camaro has room for it being a second gen but in a 4th. it will be a ton of money.

it will fit but u have to change all that and the motor mount positions. also it may not be legal in your state to increase the size of your motor. i know in jersey it is illegal to change the amount of cylinders in your car.

are you serious you cant incress then engine size in nj thats crazy. alright back to topic though i been looking into this for my 95 camaro. and unless you can do this your self its not worth doing and even then its still not most likly depends on who you talk to. you basicly need a donner car and to be crazy. me my self im crazy lol i love working on cars perfect project for me and my camaro. any way you need alot seeing as you have a 3.8 you can keep your radiator and fans but your parts list will look something like this. engine, tranny, new guages, i think fuel lines not sure on ls1 , drive shaft, new springs, engine wiring, pcm k-member you will need ALL accesiorys like ac and stuff so its a big deal and expensive and im probly forgeting some stuff. you might be beter off just doing a possi and a supercharger/turbocharger or selling and buying a z28/ss. if your still really interested in it i can give you some sites with more info

oh and depening on year cross refrence your indash wiring might be a problem not really sure for ls1 but i have a sight that tells you if your still interested

Also, the room wont matter between a 327, 350. and 383. The 383 is a 350 but bored and stroked. The physical room will be very close. The problem will be all of the connections and computer and all that other jazz

Much less expensive in the long run to sell Your V6 and buy a V8 Car.

I have an 89 camaro that had a 2.8 v-6 and I put a 350 in it. I be completely honest with you its not worth it. You will have to change everything its just alot of money that you could just buy a v-8 car but if you have any questions I can answer them.

Is there a difference in a rs and a non rs? Or what does rs mean?

RS is Rally Sport. Not sure what the trimline involves on that year, but there's not too much difference, maybe a couple of cosmetic options or something.

here's the differance!~

Q: What does "RS" stand for?

A: "RS" denotes "Rally Sport" and was a slightly cheaper model than the Z28 Camaro, but an option upgrade from the base model Camaro. The RS could be had with a number of options, including V8 power, and power windows, brakes, upgraded sound system, etc. The RS package always included ground effects and a rear decklid spoiler. The RS option was first availible in 1987 and was present until 1992. From 1990 to 1992, the RS option was the lowest availible option as the base model Camaro was not produced.
