MadMikez28, you get my vote. Red+T-Tops+Third gen= doesn't get any better. V8Chvyguy, your car looks nice, but the styling on the 2nd gens just doesn't do it for me. I was also tempted by TommyNos's beautiful first gen. Shaker, you have a nice fourth, but the hood scoop I dunno about. But overall nice car.

Wow tough to pick, Mad Mike needs to get pics pronto...I can hardly tell its a Camaro in that small one...

I finally went with Shaker....it was them hypnotic twinkling shiny wheels....I couldn't resist....[8D]

Ok I washed my car yesturday but was tired afterward so did not take a pic. Its windy today and as I was scouting a nice location a bird crapped right in thr middle drivers side of my windshield. It was bad. I near puked!

All these are absolute gems. And although I am not a fan of 3rd gens, that one looks cleeeeeaaaaan!! Very nice.....but in the end what did it for me was Tommynos!

But what got you my vote was the pic of your car on the grass showing the hood and that bad ass grill. I think that if I did not see that one and went by what was on the main page...I would have voted for the 3rd gen. So IMO I think your main pic should be changed out. Good luck to all.

They were faded when I got the car so they were pink! [:'(]You could pull the center caps and see the red. So I had to repaint them all. I think my next step is to strip off all the clear and polish the aluminum and leave the red in there. The clear coat comes off with laquer thinner but is messy

Are there not enough members with pics of thier rides to do a generation each month? Might make for a closer race. Votes not based on if its a classic or because thats the generation you drive. Votes being based on which 67-69 you like no mater what generation you drive or a fan of and so on.

thanks alot...it sat in my garage for just over 8 years,needing a motor,interior redone(in my eyes),and all new emblems and chrome,the paint was done in 93 and never had a good wet-sand(luckily)so i finnaly got it all done and put a wet sand on it and it looks better than the day it was painted,i allways kept it waxed in the garage,but got alot of harrasment from friends saying wtf,get that on the road,why are you buying a gn,get that going and so on..
its changed alot since when i used to drive,now everyone is asking me questions,taking pics while i drive,its nuts...im guessing its barret jackson,never was like this...i got it for $2500,paid 2k for paint,added wheels and tires and a unlimited hood,and at the time pulled the motor out of my wrecked camaro and installed it in the 68....
of course now ive added all new interior,suspension(front and rear)disc brakes,trunk pan,floorpans,bumpers and emblems handles and mirrors,pretty much maxed my credit card...lol..then traded a dirt bike/motorcycle for the motor..it was neat going out in it again,its only failed once since the restore,i blew a fuse behind the dash while driving,everting went dead(fuel and ignition fuse)too much on one...it was funny tho,i pushed it out of the way(with the family inside)a little distance...no one stopped to help,a couple people even yelled and honked,one guy yelled"piece of sh*t"must of been a ford guy...kinda funny,i just showed him he was #1...

heres some mod list,the 400 is 30 over,i have a steel crank,JE pistons running it to 10 1/2 with my cast dart heads,they have been portedall upto match the big dart intake...a solid camultradyne 292/308 545/560?something like that,the crane gold 1.6 rollers ..i bought the holley pro form 850 double pumper(anodised red and alluminum with 4 adjustments),most responsive carb ive ever owned..i6al msd set-up....i have the super comp jet coated big tube headers..i have 3 in.true duel exhaust with mandwel bends where needed(no kinks)...i have the holley blue with all new 1/2 inch an fittings(or what ever they call them)from the tank to the carb,a factory looking stainless tank with a sump added..
i added a Be-kool radiator,keeps it under 180 more around 160,never goes over!kinda krazy,but true...the trans was built here local at manny's trans i added a awesome 4000 stall and big cooler...along with the 410 gears its a rocket out of the hole..my cars has not been weighed yet,but the tittle says 2300#if that was factory...it has to be that with me in it,again it has not been weighed..
my car has only had 2 passes(with this motor,car has been 11.4)both of which it would not hook with the street drag radials and each time it broke loose 3 times on the take off and then i just shifted into 2nd,both times still went 12.08 and 12.01,ive allways been right on my times,hard to believe i was with all the breaking loose..
i have a new nitrous kit,but need another gear for that(will run out of motor)...so i may add a jackson overdrive to my 350 turbo or buy a 700 built to the t...not sure yet,waiting on loto money,no luck yet...inmy close friendscar the motor brought his heavier car to 11.4..i witnessed it

We ( admins ) discussed what we could do to draw some " enjoyable " interest to the forums and we came up with this idea , and it went off very well and we just stuck with it.

I thought everyone was enjoying this but apparently , I thought wrong. It seemed that the other months we were getting alot of good responces and alot of votes and especially alot of hits on the subject matter.

You know ............ well I will just wait on a couple of moreresponces ...... its up to the rest of you .... it either stays or I pull the plug on it ....

i dont run this site,nor do i want to...im just suggesting something funner,screw votes have people post pics of their own cars and YOU pick the 4 from the same gen to compete,not us...obviously you have a good eye for nice stuff,make it a close race in 1 generation.....
then at the end of the year do a best of show from each gen,then see the votes go threw the roof......;)

Truth be told when you ask for people to submit whos car they like,most votes are pay back for their vote,or this guy is cool,or he is on more than this guy,or i know this guy.......pm every member and tell them to post a pic up and your deciding who goes into the final 4 from 1 particular generation,you will have more quite people stepping up to say thanks for the vote and so on and coming out of their shell....plus it would be a true close race,you picked them...

But the only problem with the mods, or Hawk alone picking them, is that's a **** ton of work. We can't just slog it off on him. If we want to do a month per generation(I think that was origionally suggested with ROTM first came up), we would just have to specify in nominations, but there's no way in hell we can just shove this to the mods, it's supposed to be our choice of who has the best ride, not Hawks.

What we need is more pics of the rides, there are alot of members here and few pics to go by. Some people don't like to show their car off so don't really want to win....To Damn bad it's a nice car. One of the best on the site. So it is gonna kill in the voting....I didn't nominate for special favors or for payback for votes. I nominated the cars I liked the most. A nice car is a nice car. there is a fine line between to thats nice and DDAAAAMMMNNNN. ..The Voting is all done by the members there are no PM's tellin who to vote for. I like the idea of designating a month to a generation. It is very tough to go cross generations because each has their own look. Even though I drive a 3rd, I would vote for a 1st every time. I think they are the best looking body style...so to be far the generations should be split up. This also means that more people are going to have to get pics of their cars up...

Also by splitting up each gen by month you have 3 months to prep before your gen comes up again. So it gives people more time to hook up there cars = stiffer competition! So the win would feel more rewarding too. Maybe there should be a poll with different choices to see how the members of the board want to vote .....

idk then it would take to long for other cars to get nom'd an that is lame too, so i think the best to do would be to get the best two from every gen and let us pick between the two that way everyone gets a spot so.. idk thats my thought otherwise it kinda gets lame and thats why pple dont vote ...

I am in full agrement here, If anything, We could atleast try it over the next four months and see what kind of response we get. If it dose'nt work out, then move on to the next idea. This way everyone gets to see how it works and can offer proper feedback. So, I say, starting with August, we do a 4th gen month and work down from there. Everybody gets a shot.

I like the sound of the gen per month thing, plus, then we could have a post just for pictures for each gen, that way the pictures are a bit easier to navigate too.

aside from all the drama i voted shaker not cus hes same gen as me and not cus if mine was a v8 he would have the same base engine just cus its a sick ride

From what I have seen from my short time on here it doesn't seem fair, one gen up against a different one.

So the month should be all one gen, or have two or more of each gen to vote for each month. And then like Tommy says have a end of year vote for all the winners.....[&:]

Thanks, I'm happy to see other people appreciate these beauties more and more. I have gotten more comments with the origional rims than I ever got with the Cragars I had on her.

I like the idea of having just one gen per month and I think that it is a great idea. I do however believe that if your going to do a specific generation then you should open it up to all the cars in that generation ( Ex. V6 ) , just my .02 but I would like to see some more responces.

i personally dont think it should matter whats under the hood,they can post what it has and people are going to make that choice...now if they drop a ford motor in it,well we can send him to the pound:D

personally I like the idea of the months being split up by gen it does make things more fair in my opnion atleast, and I think that is all the splitting up we need to do.

Thats what we did at my other forums, we had it split up between body styles, then split into engine sizes and then split into special models (like Saleen, Cobra w/e, in this case probably SS, RS etc.)

I think engine size does matter..cuz an ugly car with a big block has gotten more votes then 3 other cars that were beautiful...and lets face it we all like to see what is under the hood..If you pop the hood and the motor looks like crap then you walk over to the car with the shiney under the hood.

I like the idea of breaking it down by generation, as well. First Gens are too rarely individualized, so they wind up being sorta boring most of the time, IMO. You can only get so excited about a perfectly restored first gen, ya know? And I agree with the comment that the Second Gen styling has never done it for me. Yuck.

Third Gens, however . . . [sm=drooldude.gif] haha! I voted for MadMike . . . because it's red. And it has T-tops. And it's a Third Gen. And his name is Mike.

Fourth Gens can be cool, too.
