Mr_Chu 04-27-2005, 05:22 AM never underestimate a smaller engine.. there is replacement for displacement.. its called technology! check this out and be amazed.. http://www.srvidz.com/chrisevo.wmv I personally have a stroked 68 maro that im working on.. i love the V8 rumble but man.. the new Evo's and Sti's are amazingly fast and smart (AWD).. Don't get me wrong im a car fanatic.. im just stating the truth. My rides: Stroked 68 maro coming soon.. bored 2.4L porsche 914.. RIP: 2000 supercharged E46 =( Don Hog 10-09-2005, 04:49 AM 4cyl Camaro?????? JD1969 10-09-2005, 12:49 PM It's you guys saying a turbo V6 is rice, have you ever heard of the Buick Grand National? V^ turbo that would hand most of you your ass on a platter. While it may be more work than it's worth to put a turbo on the car in this particular case, it can be done and trust me it's not rice, some of you guys need to grow up. nj85z28 10-09-2005, 07:40 PM ORIGINAL: Don Hog 4cyl Camaro?????? yup, seen one at the junkyard. L4 engine, only one ive ever seen, i think it was an 83 02StanGT 10-09-2005, 07:42 PM Pontiac also had a Trans Am pace car that was a V6 turbo. If I'm not mistaken it is the quickest Trans Am built, if not one of the quickest. nj85z28 10-09-2005, 07:44 PM yup. Turbo T/A 3.8 litre JD1969 10-09-2005, 09:58 PM ORIGINAL: 02StanGT Pontiac also had a Trans Am pace car that was a V6 turbo. If I'm not mistaken it is the quickest Trans Am built, if not one of the quickest. There were quick for their day stock, but stock for stock are not a match for the LS1 cars. Now throw a few mods at that turbo car and look out. z28pete 10-09-2005, 11:22 PM Turbos are great if done properly and can make great power, but unless the engine is designed or upgraded properly it won' take the stress for long. The turbo Grand National was one of my all time favorites, and also pretty good was the turbo Grand Prix with a little 3.1 engine. It could really smoke the front tires with a little tweaking. But as an aside which has very little to do with cars; at my worksite we took delivery of 3 emergency power generators. Each engine rated at 3000 HP continuous at 1800 RPM. V16 Caterpillars with 4 turbochargers each. Turbos are pushing 40 PSI and making one of the sweetest sounds. Of course the ground shakes pretty good and you can't hear yourself speak when they are pulling full load. Don Hog 11-15-2005, 03:17 AM I have a sears leaf blower attatched to 3 turbonators directlly to the TB under a 27 inch cowl hood scoop (clearance issuses).....MASSIVE GROUND RUMBLING SPOOLIDGE......!!!!!!!!!!! appart from astrinomical hp gains i have the cleanest driveway on the block!!!!!!!! 350turbo2 04-04-2006, 08:26 AM I owned an 84 camaro with the iron duke 4cyl, as a 16 year old. You couldn't kill the motor but the 5 speed manual cost me a lot to have rebuilt. shnormo 04-05-2006, 12:25 AM Nothing replaces displacement. If you apply technology to these big blcok motors, you get a hell of a power out put. |
