I just purchased a 95 z28 6spd. and it has this stupid skip shift. Is there anything I can do to eliminate it?

Get a CAGS eliminator from Jecs or Summit.

For what these things cost, I don't think it is worth going through the trouble of building one. But here is how.

I'm not sure if this is a coincidence or the rule. When I first got my z28 the skip shift never came on. Then I had a new clutch put in and the mech asked me if I wanted the wires at the back of the trans connected and I said yes. Then I found out what a skip shift was. The wires are still there but I just hit it over 2000rpm and then can shift. No Biggy

Prevents you from shifting into 2nd or 3rd and go directly to 4th, unless you rev 1st gear high enough. Supposed to save gas, but just a PITA otherwise.
