Hi,
I was thinking of buying a 1994 Z28, how much do you guys pay for insurance on a car like this? How much would it go up if I added a few mods? Thanks,
Whiskey

it would depend on your driving record, age and if you have a loan out on it

I dont think it would matter about the mods you add, but yeah just depends on your age and record.

for the majority of the price, correct.
Also put in account where you live, and how much of daily driving you do per day.
I have also been wondering the same question for my LS1 im about to be purchasing..Im 18, living in Connecticut, about 200-400 miles weekly with a clean record, and paying it in FULL in cash...about 6-7k a year =/...all I have to know is if Im getting gipped or not, hehe ;)

Its hard to say as there are way to many varibles. Mods really won't affect the premium, especially if you don't tell the insurance company about them. FWIW, I am 30, married, and my wife and I both have clean records, my insurance is $220/ month on three cars, my 01 SS, her 03 Jetta and my 94 Mustang GT, all cars have full coverage and I use Allstate.

Your best bet is to check with several insurance companies. The 94 is over 10 years old, so don't bother with collision and comprehensive insurance, just get liability. If you are living with your parents and have a good relationship, you could register the car in their name and get it insured under their policy and add you as a driver. It would save a lot of money, but then your parents will be responsible if you have an accident costing more than what the policy covers. If you are considering an LS1 you should also consider collision and comprehensive insurance, which adds a lot to your cost.

I pay $33/mo for my Camaro. I also have it on my insurance as a "pleasure vehicle," and a $1,000 deductible.

It all depends where the car is garaged (hopefully not NJ or NY), car model, advertised HP, age of car, age of operator, driving record, how is the car going to be used, amount & type of coverage wanted, yearly mileage, and your credit rating. Don't usually care about mods, except for autrageous visible stuff, such as the car riding 4 Ft off the ground, or anything illegal. Check with the insurance companies, they all have different rates.
It usually takes 3 to 5 years for accidents and tickets to clear from your record, actually they never clear but you don't get charged. Again it all depends on your state laws, and how the insurance company feels about it.

This is what I learned. I was reaserching inshurance for my camaro and my firebird. They are an 80 bird and an 81 camaro.
the maro had a 231cid
the bird had a 350
both were 800 with out collision in NY for a 16 year old male (me) so I dont think it matters. They didnt seem to care.
thats my take on it. the mods aernt even asked. especially since the vin dosent change. so your in the clear if your a good driver.
